That’s a beautiful quote! Is that quote from a book, if so which one ?
You’re actually not moving in different directions - it’s just a new season and all seasons never last forever . For mum it’s a domestic season now . With baby , building a home , learning new hobbies ( composting ), making a lovely home tor the family . It’s just a different season and that’s perfect because saga will grow and start school then that season might pull you in a different direction . For dad it’s also a new season . Dads get into this super ambitious season when babies come and that’s understandable because they want to provide . As partners we might not really match our seasons - we just compromise and try to support where we can

I’ve been following Maya since the head shaving video and in regards to the career shift, I just see it as being in a different season in your life. When u were younger, u had the season of being super busy and multiple videos a week etc. and now that ure a mom & wife, now youre in a season as a homemaker & spouse. When ure a creative person those qualities never leave you they just evolve with you as life goes on. In regards to Maxx, i feel like he and I are in similar place in regards to wanting pursue career and reach a higher level of peaks in our career.

I had to stop the video at 1:58. To say, “Thank you Maya! From the very beginning you’ve been nothing, but transparent with your SHAMELESS journey. All of the ups and downs of being a creator, being single, and now being married and a mom. To question your life choices and finding balance with your decisions is inspiring for us all. You and Max have created a great space to continue to inspire us on what it takes to live that creative life in different ways. After completing video comments…. Maya I look forward to the composting, gardening, and lifestyle videos as wife and mother from creative prospective. Max, As fellow creator in entertainment industry, I look forward to seeing what you create. I see you too doing great projects together maybe a documentary or series of some sort. Something that combines where you both are now on this shameless journey. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Happy Mother’s Day Maya! 💐

Right on time! I'm literally in the same boat. I started my channel while i was pregnant and was totally able to put content out and still be creative. When the baby came those first few months I was still able to create during naps....but nowwww..I have zero time. Being a full time stay at home is the hardest thing I ever did in my life, and so rewarding. I felt like I was totally losing myself because every second is dedicated to him and whats next. I came to understand that this is the chapter i'm in and my partner made me realize how fast time will go and to do what I can when I can. Since I have no time to create garments or update my shop, I been learning about soil and plants and giving the apartment some life and that totally been fixing that lil creative buzz I needed!

You both are really growing and evolving together, which is in itself so beautiful to witness. I can definitely relate with Maya. I’m currently on matleave from being a CEO. Being a mom to my little guy (8months) has def given me pause on my career goals (which I too had been frustrated and drained by). Over the last 2 years I too have become an avid plant mommy and gardener (and loving learning about composting especially vermiocomposting or worm composting!). My husband and I moved from downtown Toronto to small town last year. This summer I’m launching my microgreens business which I’m hoping will allow me to have more flexibility to be a more available mommy vs returning to my career. All this to say, I’m inspired by your journeys individually but also as a couple. Wishing you both all the best as you explore your new chapters! ❤️

Maya, you can now use your background in media to share this new passion of yours with others and teach them through videos and storytelling. It's an exciting but very different chapter as a mother & wife, but still an artist and performer. I'm in that same season as I lived & worked in L.A. for 12 years before meeting my husband and having our first child at 35 yrs old. Now i'm 42 and a mama of 3 boys and a widow, and still navigating how to balance motherhood and my journey as an artist. Sending you love and strength, Sis. God has got you!

It's so refreshing to see the acknowledgement on what it takes to be a stay at home mama, and still be searching for your sense of self. I have always had an inclination to dive into the realm of healing. I was a tarot reader before having kids, who passionately studied yoga. I've realized now, that being a mother is the purest form of healing, that takes the most dedication and devotion. Maybe we are returning to our true nature by our babies choosing us to heal the collateral. Blessings and a happy mothers day to you, Maya❣

Maya, you are laying the foundation for your life in Sweden. ALL of that has been creative! Redoing the house, garden, greenhouse, raise your daughter…you’re still doing YT and brand deals and yet making it all look so easy. Saga isn’t even a year old and you did that! I’m sure there is a market for people living the country who are in need of photographers, videographers, workshops on tech equipment, or even a “Maya 101” course (designed to take students through how to make a YT channel inc. props, set, budget)…but for now you’re on mat leave so enjoy it!

Firstly - Happy Mother's Day Maya... I am literally twice Max's age but have been watching the journey of you two since I discovered Maya's channel at the beginning of the pandemic... I have been with my husband for 20 years now and we work in the same field, however, we have always been at different and changing levels throughout our careers... We have had moments of unhealthy competition as well as internal guilt, shame and resentment based on our careers... However, what has always saved us - is our love being greater than ambition... And when I see the two of you - - - I am reminded of that love... You two will be just fine because you two are communicating and not burying those emotions... Continued success and thank you both for always sharing your journey... Love, Light and Flow...

It’s so awesome to see how much you have grown, I’m not even sure how I found you, but I do remember it’s when I big chopped for the first time back in 2009/10. I was a stay at home mom when my girls were babies, and then that itch came back for me to get back in the workforce. Fast forward to present day, I’m divorced, my oldest (32, an artist is moving to San Antonio) for a great job opportunity. My youngest (29, who is married & an actress) is living her life. I am now 54 in a sense am starting a new life, w/o my babies. I am part owner of a catering company, and working in corporate, but I’m enjoying the ride. I apologize for all that I wrote. Glad to see the changes you have gone through and continuing to go through. Excited for your future w/ Max and Saga! 🥰

I left a comment on one of your vids Maya about how I get your feelings as I've experienced just that. I was studying fashion design and was so damn good at it, it awakened the creativity in me that was oppressed coming from an African family (of you know you know). Started working in my family business after school at the age of 10 and worked non stop till now, I'm 38. When my kids came I gave up my dreams to persue motherhood and chose being a childminder (home based childcare in England). Best decision but this is retrospective. The business grew so fast and my husband left his job to join me. Our daughters are 9 and 11 and I can finally persue my fashion dreams because it doesn't come with thr pressure of HAVING to do it. What I'm saying is, you are flowing anyway Maya and this is intuitive for yiu and I'm glad you're listening. Not listening to your gut means not flowing and then living in survival mode and in turn the things you're passionate about become chores and you can lose yourself as a result. I wish i could have taken time to flow because I got here, where I should be anyway. Pressure is not the one and guess what, you're the director and producer of your journey. These chats with Max must really open up vulnerabilities in both of you that will enable a loving and healthy marriage. Keep it up guys. Everyone, take note xxx

Happy Mother’s Day my beautiful sister. We are allowed to shift, sway and transform. Though life may be more focused on family and domestication it doesn’t mean you’re less of who you are, just different. A difference that is challenging to anchor as a mom and spouse because yes, “the you” can be consumed in those roles. It’s so great that you’re in tuned with the shift and the preservation of your self. I think you’re on the verge of transforming again. May your mind be open and your SELF be prepared and ready for the change. You have so much around you Maya; nature, your little one, spouse… you have so many new subjects girl. Your passion will manifest, all the very best. Enjoyed this conversation.

I think this is such a good video. Not just for a married couple, with a baby, learning to live in their new worlds and still try to be individual, but it also really serves those who haven't gotten anywhere near those things yet, but want to. It's inspiring. I think a lot of us think life ends at 30 and that you've got to have everything figured out by then and you're done changing and growing, but if you're a healthy-minded person, you never stop growing, your life only gets fuller and more vivid through the years. And I think this video shows how it's possible to have that family, have careers, and be yourselves. However, yeah, I do think you both complement each other because Maya has had the career and she's settling down more into... domestic life, while Max is now starting to really focus on his work. And the great thing is, you both have experience to help the other and you're both open to growth and learning, as well as having a lot of support and trust from each other to be able to move in different directions, but still know that there is still this home base within your family you can always retreat to. I think a lot of couples break up or divorce because they don't have that foundation and when one or both people start to move in different directions, it gets scary because one or both people think the change will be too much for the relationship to handle. But when you have that foundation, I don't think you worry as much about that and you can focus more on just building life. And you're both right, that is an ultimate dream. You're just learning to live and build together and that's beautiful. Something, I believe, is sorely missing out there in the world of love.

Hi Maya, as you said creativity comes in different forms. You can still create something new, at each step in life. Of course the pace of living and expressing yourself in L.A., as a single woman, was way faster than it is now, when you have a long term partner and a small child. Nothing wrong with that. We have to take into consideration also the 2 years of Covid that disrupted everyone's life... which was not a small crisis. As for the future, I as a subscriber look forward to seeing what Max will do in terms of growing this channel or anything else related to supporting his family through work projects. By the way, don't be discouraged for the current situation. It is normal to slow down with work when your child is not even 3 yet.

As someone who is in and has done the field… actually inspired from your wife, I will say this … get specific with what you want in media. The field can be unkind, and in the same sense, it can be rewarding when you see your hard work play out in front of you… Find out what you want to do in media. Do you want to do the television/film route, and if so, are you prepared to be away from your family for a long period of time. On the other hand, do you want to make content/ maybe documentaries? Have fun in your journey. It’s wide and so many avenues, but it can also be hard and mentally draining. I have found a Grace of creating, but on my terms. Good luck on your beautiful journey ❤️

Creativity is always evolving. You will go through many changes on this journey called life. You will continue to evolve. Saga will be showing more independence as time goes on. Before long she will be in school and you'll be changing to support that. And as she gets more independent and develops her own interest you'll change yet again. As your husband's business grows you will change yet again. As long as you allow each other the time and space to do whatever it is that you are doing you will always come together and love and grow as a family.

I love that you have moved in a new direktion maya 🌸☀️ But for a while I couldn’t help than to feel, that you are sitting on soooo much knowledge and tips and tricks to living life as a creative, and to be self employed!! I have felt since you kinda changed topic for your channels and audience also, that you would work so good as a mentor or coach to younger creatives! Share your knowledge ✨🥰 I would 1000% book you as a personal guide/mentor to help me forward in my creative career

Maya !!!!!! Start a garden series ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would love to watch that ! I love to create in the soil as well . My husband and I met through music I was a singer and he was a saxophonist and right now in our marriage I feel like we both have definitely moved in separate directions . He’s more into tech now and im all about the “homesteading” life. But like you guys said it’s about including each other in your new interests and and also supporting your partner in there new endeavors. This was a great conversation ❤️
