I’m glad maya was honest about her not wanting to lose max. My stepdad passed away last year and was married to my mom for 20 years. It has been a hard transition for her to be independent because she set her life around him. Now she has to discover who is she as a person without his involvement.

So interesting that you have been contemplating the loss of another. I have dealt with a lot of loss in my life and recently started therapy to work through my fixation on loss and grief. I am just coming to realize that the expectation that things will go wrong - Murphy's Law - has been a trauma response in my life. Constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. While I wish I wasn't raised to expect the the worst, I know that even if something bad happens I can survive it and it doesn't have to ruin my life. Bad things are going to happen in life and we just need the tools to navigate them. I love that you and Max have these conversations because that is what is going to help you understand each other when things get challenging.

Great video you guys, I enjoyed it so much. The conversation that you had around the 13m mark reminds me of something that I learned the had way. The grass is not greener on the other side. I spent a lot of my 20's and 30's moving around in search of constant or consistent happiness/joy. I would move to cities that I used to visit and that were so much fun only to find that once I moved, the "fun" wasn't there anymore and so I repeated the cycle of continously moving. Now in my 40's, I've learned and realized that the fun is where I make it. It's not in a destination, it's me!

Love the open chats and vulnerability. I think it's amazing to love and love ... hard in a way and that you found each other. It is inspiring what you are building. I grew up in London and now live in the country and it's just a complete different way of life, but so beautiful. Quality of life is different and it sure is hard work to maintain a house and garden, but so worth it. I would encourage you both to keep bringing all of these thoughts and processing to God, Yahweh, and allow Him to help you navigate these thoughts. Bring it to Him and surrender it all to Him as in Him there is no fear, or what if's but just His perfect love.
