Amanda Seales is ALWAYS a master class in transparency and intuition. Often, women who are perceived as “masculine” or “difficult” or whatever the haters want to call her, are actually highly sensitive, deeply feeling, deeply loving people who just want the energy they give to be reciprocated. Sadly, most people just don’t have the emotional capacity (or capability) to show up like that and that’s what makes it hard for someone like our girl. It’s cold out there in them streets!

If marriage is the ultimate goal for most relationships, I’m going to make an unpopular statement. As a married man, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Everyone isn’t cut out for marriage regardless of gender. It takes an exceptional person to get married and remain successfully married. The marriage and divorce rate numbers are accurate and it takes a special person to indefinitely pair-bond with another person. I pray for the best outcome for everyone. Honestly, there are some great people out there, but they are not great for marriage. God bless 🙏🏾

So true. I’m 33 years in. We have good and bad times. Being respectful and acceptance good and bad is an absolute in a marriage. If you cannot accept that in a person, keep moving. Amanda clearly does not want to deal with a man’s traumas and I get it, but let’s get real, she’s all over the place and she takes everything to heart. She is extremely sensitive and speaks on everything. Not saying she should shut up since she has the right to speak, but my god she could drive someone crazy. Is she ever just happy about something. It must feel exhausting just wanting for things to change in society No one wants to hear constant complaints. Man or woman.

When men say they like me because I challenge them, that is a 🚩 Not a deal breaker, but my eyes are wide open. A lot of people who say that are actually saying "I see *you* as a challenge that I want to conquer. This will be fun. Game on." They aren't interested in learning from you and becoming a team with you, you are the opposing team and they want to break you down and dominate you.
@floydphillipsco9 ай бұрын

No man desires a woman that challenges him, we desire women who inspire us. That's your role as the helpmate on the team. This is why women like AS can't keep a man, she's too challenging, to the point where it's received as competition, disrespectful. And no man will compete with a woman, we'd rather just leave which is why AS can't keep a man. She's likely always debating him, cutting him off mid-sentence, questioning even the basic of requests that he makes, and always rolling her eyes when he shares his perspective while telling him he's wrong. That's AS all day, and that's why she can't keep a man... And y'all are taking her advice smh Good luck with that...

I think it’s *time* for women to understand, the system has told men that they are *ENTITLED* to treating women the way they internally feel the system at large is treating *THEM* like an afterthought 🤷🏽♀️ As long as the woman maintains her ‘place’ then the man can feel like he has some power in his life. That’s why so many of them are all over the internets acting up and out because women no longer even want to be *bothered* so that means they don’t have anyone to take their frustration out on. Also, in a particular community *survival* is always paramount and therefore even romantic partnerships become a zero sum game. That’s why the man used the host’s vulnerability against her because in our community it’s *always* about who can win in most men’s minds because they’re not ‘winning’ in society at large.

Thank you for your honesty Amanda. I learned a lot from this. We all have work to do. Relationships are very hard, they teach us a lot about our self, and no matter how smart, successful, wealthy, beautiful, whatever….no one can escape this.

Sometimes I thought Amanda was annoying but this interview showed me how deep and articulate your use of words are and it’s very impressive. We need more ladies like you in media spaces. I hope to be one, someday.

This is an incredible interview. Very open, honest and transparent. I commend her for having the courage to share. It also lets me know that the communication gap between men and women is vast..

I can completely relate to what she is saying. I feel her pain, I think maybe it's best for me to stay single. Just because I don't want to have to shrink just to make a man feel seen. I naturally operate out of my masculine side as well.

Same… I feel like my own men are always in competition with me… even ones that are spoken for and they feel they know everything just because they are a man. I know not all black men are like this but I never experienced competition with Caucasian and Latino men, trying to control me or rule over me, they were always so supportive and wanted to see me win and wanted to learn from me and I learned from them. The black guys who wanted to date me it was always because of something I possessed that they wanted that they felt could make their life easy. They were opportunist and saw me as an opportunity to get what they want but I recognize it and shit it down from day one. Always trying to rush to get me in bed, talking about babies and wanting me to be the man, their mother, provider and protector. These guys were older than me but everything was my resources and sex. They mad bad choices in women and wanted me to fix it. Or if their significant other wasn’t giving them six they wanted to try and get it from me. Unbelievable!

1:38:40 - 1:40:30 is literally the saddest yet realest shit that I’ve heard in a long time! This honestly has been one of the best podcast episodes I have ever seen. Thanks to the hosts and thanks mostly to Amanda for being so vulnerable, honest and transparent!

I have only watched this podcast with Amanda as a guest. This couple is doing great work and I think they should have Amanda on every season. Great, enlightening and thought provoking conversations.

It’s absolute bananas how I’m 49 and Amanda is 42 and I have had the exact same interactions with men.

Fantastic episode. @theamandaseales is not only an amazing artist but also a remarkable person. She's a true force. It was great that the hosts allowed her to fully express herself without interruptions. Great job! This podcast just gained a new follower.

This interview was just... wow. Insightful, intelligent, articulate, moving... All the things. I wish it was a longer conversation. Definitely hope she's back on again. I love her passion and simultaneously her ability to be objective yet still vulnerable. Some people are hell bent on misunderstanding her simply because she is bold and unapologetic and still acts with integrity in spite of fear, but these are some of the very things that make Amanda such a gem. Excellent interview.

.....this ...has my laughing, crying, and WOW! Amanda Seales...we are > < --- everything she said. Consistency, people telling you who they are (AND WE SHOULD LISTEN. and exit stage left if you hear something that ain't you). You (we, us) deserve someone who accepts you as you are. You won't be "a lot" for the one(s) who is enough. Thank you ALL for the real conversation. I hope we all are and attract good love. ❤

So many gems in this podcast. Especially the last part about Black men making it a priority to get therapy and figure out their stuff. We could be so further along. Sigh. Thank you all of you for sharing!

Sending love Amanda’s way. Saw her interview with Marc Lamont Hill and now this one and her eyes look so low and her energy seems more performative than authentic. I’ve followed her for some time and it seems her light is dimming. Sis I’m praying for u because you give so much I pray you get back what u give out 10fold. I know u ain’t all about the prayer thing but I’m still sending restoration your way. 💕

This whole conversation made me feel seen and mad at the same time simply because in so many scenarios I felt like Amanda is me. Smart talented women, trying to me transparent and trying to communicate but the opposite sex receive it in such a weird way
