I had friends of all colours and ethnicities and only understood is all to be different not “different” I do believe Children brought up in racist environment don’t understand the effect or impact of their behaviour being racist because it’s simply what they’re brought up with no less excusable but up to an age ( because if your not being educated at home it your being taught at school ) it’s about the fact that your hurting someone period regardless of context and correcting that behaviour immediately. You blame the upbringing not necessarily the product. Unfortunately it’s all learned behaviour … children are not born thinking their differences can be perceived as negative be it race lifestyle gender sexuality religion….. they are taught to be cogniscent of these perceptions based on things passed on . The hard part on both sides is just letting go. On one side it’s realizing your ancestors passed issues have nothing to to do with your current existence understand we are just people and differences are surface level in every way . On the receiving side it’s hard to let go of all the of the atrocities youre ancestors experienced as the hands of people with these issues , because while you’re world is different they went through it get you here and letting go may feel like you’d be denying their struggle so you end up carrying it forward in a way as well .

I deal with the same things, but somehow I still think her becoming famous and "successful" allowed a certain amount of arrogance that when added with her diagnosis could make her unbearable for a lot of people. This is the first time I’ve ever heard someone describe my situation. Nobody can understand how devastating it is to have people HATE you everywhere you go and for no one else to understand because they’ve never experienced it. You can’t keep friends, bosses hate you, coworkers dislike you, etc. How can you explain you have problems at every job and not sound like the problem? I wish I could talk to her personally because she gave some of us a voice. Every story she told was just.. so relatable. My presence has always just been so threatening and I could never understand why. I could literally be in line to order food, 5 people can go before me and the cashier has this smile and greets them, when I walk to the counter, it’s no words, no smile, nothing. For no reason! Even if I’m smiling. I feel like I have a bad spirit in me that throws people off. Everyone at work gets along with the boss, but the boss nitpicks everything I do. Every coworker says “so and so is so nice, we’ve never had that problem with them”.. and I believe it. I’m always the odd ball out and I am 100% sure no one else has ever been treated so badly. I’m always the first one and probably last. When I leave the space, everyone is happy again.

@@taydramitchelljackson9267and by doing that he was proving her point. This is my first time I seen Shannon keen on trying to insist on his beliefs and opinion at the expense of his guest. Very weird. I also love him for eventually understanding it is her experiences and she is his guest. Kudo to him. I know he meant well and what he said makes sense but still it is her experiences. I even think towards the end he even sounded protective of her. Even having a little crush on her. Oh how I wish😅 they are very similar in many ways😂

At the hour and 23 minute mark, when Amanda says "So you finally understand me, it took me a minute but we are here." I felt that. This entire TIME, two different individuals are trying to find a mutual understanding of each other and respect each other's differences.
