I am also an ex-professional ballet dancer as well as being a musician. I have had many, many, many different teachers over the years. One thing I have always believed is that a good teacher can take an otherwise obscure idea and explain it in such a way that the student gets it. One teacher can "explain" things one way, another can "explain" the SAME THING in a different way. And then one teacher comes along and explains it in a way that makes the light bulb go on.

Where have you been hiding all my life, I could have progressed so much further years ago if you were in my life. Of course you were probably not even a thought from your parents minds back years ago when I could have learned something about music theory. I actually learnt relative minors back in the mid 80s from a keyboard player I was in a band with in Germany. He was an amazing musician and really helped me to have an appreciation for theory as a means to communicate with other musicians. You on the other hand just explain it so easily to understand. That the ah-ha moments are almost overwhelming. And this all leads into modes and intervals as well... Thank You...

What a great discovery this channel has been. Beautiful music and excellent music theory teaching. A gentle request/suggestion: in addition to chord relationships in a key (scale harmonisation I think?), as requested by another commenter, it would be wonderful to have Gracie's take on simple modulations to other keys, or middle 8s, etc. when songwriting.

I already did watch your previous video about circle of 4ths and fifths; it was simpler yet I was able to to grasp and understand the whole concept of it, dissimilar to other videos I had watched, they were all perplexing for me.
