Relax and Sketch: Cityscape with Water Reflection + Street People | Urban Sketch At Olympic Village

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you my afternoon at Olympic Village in Vancouver. I sketched the view of Science World, the mountain, and the apartment buildings across from False Creek. Then, I hopped to a nearby grocery store to have a cup of latte and snack, and sketched some people. Hi Suzanne, the sketchbook in this video is an Arteza watercolor sketchbook. Over the years I also enjoyed Moleskine watercolor album, Speedball Hand Book Travelogue watercolor journal, Strathmore mix-media sketchbook.

Hi Becky, can you please mention which brand of pens you have found “bleed” and which ones don’t? I am using Pigma Micron and I am finding they bleed. I mean I haven’t tried waiting after a half hour or more after using them, but they are bleeding after 5-10 min.

Hi there, it really depends on the paper that you use. If you use very smooth type of paper (a lot of mix-media paper are, and also some non-watercolour papers...), the ink still bleeds no matter how long you wait, because the ink just stays on the surface. I've tried Pigma Micron pens and the ink stayed clean for me. So what paper are you using?

@@BeckyCao the paper I am using now is watercolour paper, 200g made by Fabriano. It is not completely smooth. It has a textured surface. Which pens have you found to not bleed the most on any paper?

@@robinwild1 You can try Faber-Castell PITT artist's pens. :) Make sure it's called PITT artist's pen, because some other pens of that brand are not waterproof. Hope it will work for you!
