Water Buffalo seem to do a lot of exploring with their tongues. They lick everything. He is trying to get closer to me to get pet and to put his tongue on me. I think they must take in a lot of sensory information that way. He's very smart and definitely knows the camera is an object you do not eat. :)

He's doing good! I'm glad I weaned him early. I lost so many nights sleep worrying if he was going to be alive the next day when I first brought him home. It was rough getting him onto formula from mother's milk. And the stress of transport and his injury really had the odds stacked against him.

Either one is easier! It just depends on what is going on, the length doesn't really make anything more difficult, if that's how long it takes. Out of curiosity, which videos do you mean? The VLOGS which have been around 15 minutes or so in general-- and can easily be over 20 minutes. I can't think of any longer 'just recording' videos I've done. But length is so hard to factor in and a lot of people have their preferences. I would personally rather sit down and turn on a 15 minute or even longer video of a KZbinr I liked, than have something that is only a few minutes long. Water Buffalo are really nice in general! Not just bottle babies like Nandi that grew up familiar with people. When I was in Southeast Asia, I approached Buffalo in rice paddies wholly unattended during their primary breeding season. They would shy away, if anything. Very tolerable and usually will only attack if they feel a dire need or because a female is in heat nearby. It really is a shame though that not too many zoos in America (or otherwise) have Water Buffalo for people to see. They seem to be really overlooked in american culture as a whole.

I was reading that they live mostly in Southeast Asia and wow you been there? it's nice that you get to travel..i was also reading that Water buffalo live in muddy waters and swamps of tropical and subtropical areas of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Thailand as well...i never seen them at the Zoo here in Florida...Pet's i use to own are Macaw, Cat's and a Large Turtle..LOL....i love animals and really appreciate your videos...Keep up the great work and look forward to your next Video

There's also a well established herd in Australia... same with camels. :) Maybe I need to move there. They are really found throughout Asia, India, China... those are not small territories. There are two main types of Water Buffalo-- Swamp and River. One is believed to have originated deeper in China isolated from the other. Florida would be a great home for Water Buffalo. Nandi seems to enjoy water, but he goes under his shelter in the rain. They are not required to be in water and a big part of that is to protect from disease due to insect bite. They however need to be kept fairly cool and do not have nearly as many sweat glands as our cattle do. What kind of a Macaw did you have? I used to work with very poorly manned parrots at a pet store. I would spend a lot of time socializing them, so the pet store could have a chance of selling them. :) It was my very first job. Birds have a special place in my heart. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching.
