Doing the change overs and striking the correct base string is murder. I don't have a pick which makes striking the string up/down more difficult, but I suppose there's nothing for it but constant practice. I appreciate how you do the talk through for each pattern.
@Relaxandlearnguitar8 ай бұрын
Going to need a pick for this one. But yes, lots of repetition will get you there.
@BertfromBelgium Жыл бұрын
C9 is very useful here, also for the intro lick in between, you can target the notes on the 4th and 5th string while strumming

Hi Kevin - wow is that fun! LOL tried to keep up with ya and got caught up in the strings, and my pick went-a-flyin'! LOL You are right this will take time but can't wait to get it down! I love the muted base - adds so much and makes it sound like a Cash song! So I'm gonna go find my pick and this time I'm gonna take your advice and start slow. Thanks for the great lesson!

I'm not sure if you said this, but the second verse is different than the first, right? When he sings "I fell for you like a child" the C chord comes in sooner than it did in the previous verse, and it affects the rhythm of the "horn" riff that comes in after that!

Total beginner here. Could I use the Cadd9 (4 fingered C) rather than the usual C chord? Makes for an easier transition between the C & G. I was watching Keith Urban and he does this for a few songs. Just curious. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts and talents!
