A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his KZbin channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

Fun fact: Johnny Cash used to put a “US dollar bill” between the strings and the fretboard to get even more of a “snare drum” sound. That was before he finally got a drummer in his band in 1960. Then the “Tennessee 2” became the “Tennessee 3.”

Old news. Johnny told about and demonstrated this in his shows all the time with a folded piece of paper under the strings. So have I as well to get that percussive sound with drums like him.

Whether you’re into Johnny Cash or not, this is a brilliant aid to learning theses different muting techniques. I think the majority of lessons on muting simply focus on the right hand and the palm and not including what a huge difference the left hand can make. This is my practice for tomorrow. Thank you the both of you!

It’s a Combo-uh. 🤙🤙 Met a guy while editing video for him. Classic NYC guy. Heavy NYC accent. We’re adding some sentence on the screen. He says, loudly, “gimme a Slamma on the end o dat.” Slamma, slammer, was what he called an exclamation point. Yer famous way of speaking clearly-uh. Yer just putting yer own Slamma on de end o’ dat. 🤙🤙

It’s a lot easier to get a grasp of how to do this if you already can play drums. It actually comes quite naturally. I played drums for years before starting to learn guitar. So. If you want to really improve your rhythm guitar licks, take some drum lessons! 😂😂

Hey you Guy's lol this made a 67 year old Muso smile .. Thank God for KZbin & at some real good Player's but not too serious .. I am Scot's / Irish & stuck in the Backwoods of Ye olde Englande .. where Hobbit's came from & I wondered if you had heard of the 10 Dollar Bill Trick ?? Probably Yes but maybe some other Folk's would like to know for Home recording which is all I do these day's .. So I heard that a stiff Note slid under & through the Strings can be used as a Damper & help's to get Johnny's recorded sound on some Track's .. Last time I played Live was at a Local " Win a Thousand £££'s " band's & Solo Artist's welcome Competition .. Well I got through to the Final's & My Wife overheard this young Band ( who won ) Describe me as sounding a bit Like Johnny Cash .. so I was Happy .. anyway it was a Thousand £'s worth of Free Studio Time at a Local Studio & I guess it would probably have run into overtime & hidden Cost's lol .. Good luck with the Show /s cheers .. No reply required ..

Maybe the wrong video to ask this on, but I've noticed when I'm strumming often my pick will hit the guitar as well and will cause a tap sound is this normal? If not how do I fix this? Just slow down and really get my strumming motion more fluid?

You guys are too funny. No idea how you guys can be complete gods at guitars yet just now discovering the easiest form of muting. Palm muting is the more advanced technique lol. You two should pick up some guitaleles and tune them down to standard with high tension strings; it will force you to use a lot of different techniques that you guys probably aren't used to doing.
