In 1981, my father attempted to live his dream of being a nature photographer, and while a good amateur, he couldn't quite make it as a career. He moved us out to the Cascades in a cabin that was one of four on a small service road between two towns called Packwood and Randle. They were on the south side of Highway 12 and right next to Butler Creek. Ohanapecosh, on the southeastern end of Ranier National Park was a weekend visit for a good year, when we had to leave due to the depressed economic conditions at that time. To this day I'd swear up and down that Ranier was the most beautiful place on earth, but I only went by my memories. Now almost 40 years later, watching a video of the park for the first time since I lived there, I'm reminded of how much I actually believe it. Thanks for posting.

Nice viewpoint and obviously nice gear. Definitely appreciated seeing areas I used to visit and worked even @ Paradise. On the flip side, if I may give you a few pointers on the production side of this video. Beautiful shots, good eye from a lot of vantage points. However, 90% of nearly every clip is pan left in transition. This became somewhat annoying after a few minutes because it became predictable. If I could suggest something that will add variance and constant watchability. Mix your filming technique up. You are stagnant with your left pan and it is over done. Let's see your drawbacks, pan/IN, overheads,closeup's,more time lapse (with variations in speed), use more soft sweeping pans (other than a tri pod). With that said, it can be achieved manually all those variations in method however if financially you can afford a stabilizer. This will afford you great flexibility along with excellent motion. Cheers, nice looking stuff. Hope to see more
@royclymer56906 жыл бұрын
Also, the cut/pan duration is essentially constant, becoming predictable and therefore boring.
