Awe thank you Lydia I am happy you are enjoying your natural hair. I did my big chop too back in 2017 and then went back to relaxing in 2019. To be honest I like wearing my hair both ways.

How do you see the back of your hair when relaxing. I want to relax my hair myself and I’m scared of doing the back but I don’t want to go to a hair stylist

I have been relaxing my hair by myself for years it sure comes with practice but when I just started out I used two mirrors one in front and one at the back so I could see the back section. But has time pass I got more comfortable and now I do not need a mirror to see the back. However occasionally I would use a hand held mirror just to make sure all the new growth at the back is covered.

Please why did you deep condition before clarifying?

After a relaxer the cuticle of the hair shaft is open so putting the replenishing conditioner at that stage just before neutralizing the hair will help to restore some amount of moisture to the hair that was lost during the hair relaxing process. The conditioner will also help to lower the pH level of the hair back to it’s normal pH. Once the conditioner is rinsed from the hair a neutralizing shampoo is used to remove any traces of relaxer on the hair and helps to close the cuticle. I did state the reason for using the conditioner before shampooing/neutralizing my hair if you missed that part you can always rewatch the video. Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback.
