You are right about the stylists not knowing how to tell us to care for our relaxed hair. None of my relaxed hair stylists told me that I needed a protein treatment!! When I went natural it was a white Aveda female stylist with bright pink hair that told me I needed more protein in my hair!! And then I found one from Ateya on old-school KZbin who put me on Aphogee! 15 years I never stopped using Aphogee!! I had to go natural to learn about hair care...smh... Yes I have high porosity natural hair and I rotate my protein and moisture treatments every other week.

That’s one of the reasons that I no longer use a relaxer since 2002 because I have fine hair especially around my edges which are quite finer. The previous stylists seemed they didn’t understand not to over process my hair. I have learned so much from Crystal, thank you. #elitehaircareusa

The purpose of a neutralizer is to bring the ph level back down to a normal level

I'm currently working overseas, so I have to watch some of your videos to keep my hair healthy and strong. I work in a hot and humid tropical environment and I can't afford ANY heat (flatiron, curlers) on my hair. In addition to that, the water is not the greatest. Everything has to be shipped by Amazon out here, so I'm still able to get my relaxer systems. Rod sets have saved my hair, once it's set, little to no manipulation and it lasts a week. This information about how to properly relax the hair is vital! Thanks!!❤

The purpose of a neutralizer is to stop the hair from relaxing and straightening. Hey I got a pixie cut should I start the relaxer in the middle or the back and how do I stop perm from overlapping with a pixie. I usually put conditioner and hair grease on the hair that I Don’t Want relax to coat it comment please.🙏🏽

You are correct, I went natural because my stylist did a number on my hair. At the end of the relaxer a lot of my hair was on the floor. I have been natural ever since.
@Serenityblu237 ай бұрын
I was natural most of childhood. Didn't get a relaxer regularly until I was older. It was rare for my stylist to cut my ends , or even style my hair after she relaxed it. I went back to natural and refused to go back to relaxers because I experienced so much growth with my natural hair than I ever did with a relaxer. Relaxed hair is harder to take care of imo.

My granddaughter is mixed and has been getting relaxers for years ( she’s 23). She had been going to a lady’s home who did a really good job but she stopped doing hair and the new person must have used a different product because her scalp became red, raw and burning and then she got a severe case of folliculitis and was put on antibiotics for 4 months. Thankfully it has cleared up and her natural hair us really coming in but she wants it relaxed again. She will be going to a hair salon dealing strictly with ethnic hair so hopefully she’ll get good results. Do you recommend she can resume relaxers? Your work is fantastic!!!

A roller set is best after getting a perm😮😊
@MintakaSaiph7 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely. For a blowout effect, I used to wrap my hair then go back under for about 15 minutes. One reason why I don’t want to get my hair relaxed again. I’m not great at roller setting my own hair and it feels like no matter how long I sit under, one piece is always slightly wet. I like the flexibility of wash and go too much.

Her hair is beautiful. I love watching the trims & cuts. I almost shaved all of my hair off because it was just falling out and has gotten so thin. Practically bald. Then I realized my licensed stylist was not properly washing out the relaxer. I would get in the shower and my hair would smell like perm! Went to a new more seasoned stylist and my hair is already growing back.
