Fresh cut flowers i only get them occasionally if it was a special day since they eventually die which is sad. My favourite is pink tulips. Also white roses and arum lily. I have kind stop using perlite in my potting mix as they eventually get discolour from watering so i add more orchard bark instead. We don’t have larger size perlite and the ones without the ashes as they are so bad for you.

Its still cold in Michigan...omg. 🤯🤯 I put my Draceina tree on my front porch and had to bring it back inside because temperature went from 70 to 40 in 2 days...geeez!!!

Same here!! The weather has been kind of fluctuating from week to week. Our night time lows are still in the 40s on some days and then daytime highs are in the 60s.

My favorite flower is blue hydrangea. It will be interesting to see how the plants in stratum do compared to the same ones planted in soil. I also can’t wait to see your greenhouse full!

I have so many favorites, peonies, hydrangea, roses but don’t last long enough. My Mayoi grows all wonky too, didn’t know if I should trellis it or let it hang, I’ve seen both and look great. So I took cutting and have one of each. I thought mine took along time to root.

I found Hydrangeas to not last very long as cut flowers as beautiful as they all. I love Peonies too, they are so beautiful. Luckily my Mayoi rooted pretty quickly in water for me!

Ranunculus are one of my favorites too! I have tried to grow them so many times and finally gave up. You have some of the coolest plants I've never seen. That dischidia! I love it. And the rhipsalis with its big paddles is really cool too. I had trouble getting kimnachii to root. Out of about 6, only one rooted in water. Maybe I should try stratum for the others!

You should definitely try! You will probably have more success. I think the humidity in NY may work better than this desert I live in. You have wonderful new yard and a greenhouse to start them in! Do it!

I've actually never had much issue transitioning plants from water to soil or any other potting medium. Once the roots are established enough they seem to adjust pretty well.
