I forgot to add that watching the foals run about was so cute … loved the accompanying music 🎶 too! Can’t get over Exzy’s size … she looks like a mature mare already … and sort of dwarf’s Ariel. And Ariel’s such a pretty foal as well! Love the ‘foal boot camp’! 🤣😂🤣 At first I thought you said full boot camp!

It takes a very strong and loving soul to buy, rehab (for lack of a better word), and then move these horses along. It's beautiful that you give them the most amazing chance at a happy life with someone who really appreciates a well rounded and educated horse, and keeps and spoils them for the rest of their lives. It's one of the reasons I love your channel so much. ❤❤

The perfect comparison to what you do is someone who gets a precious 8-week old puppy to train to be a service dog. These angels spend 24/7 socializing and training this puppy with the intention of giving them up for a fulfilling life of helping someone with special needs. I couldn't do it, but boy do I admire those who do. I admire what you are doing too.

I think when the prisons began training service dogs was a wonderful program. It helped to get more service dogs available but also gave the prisoners something to do that was helpful to others.

You're like a finishing school for horses. You train them properly, get them fit, undo their bad habits, instill good habits, all to prepare them for a better "marriage" & ensure they have the best shot at a happy, productive future. Makes perfect sense to me. Your primary efforts are educational for your riders, your horses, and your You Tube audience. I admire you very much.

If she didn't move along horses, she wouldn't be able to get more of them. There would be no Belle and Ezzie (who knows what situation Belle would be in now if Shae hadn't been able to buy her), no Ariel (who needed an experienced person to work with her), no Prince Charming (who had someone that did their very best to help give him a good quality of life), and would the person who might have bought Bagheera have been kind enough to keep her when they found out she was a thirty year old horse instead of the age they said she was at the auction? We get to enjoy the horses for a little while, they go to good homes eventually, then we get some new ones to enjoy. It's a cycle with a lot of joy and some pain but she can help a whole lot more horses doing it this way.

As for "moving horses along," I like to remember that feral horses who live "in the wild" often move around and join new herds. So you selling them on to "fresh pastures" and new herds is just part of a horse's life. Heck, even humans grow up and move to new cities and bond with new people.
@Qu33nMary44410 ай бұрын
That's good to know, I wasn't aware that horses in the wild will join other herds 😊 I'm learning so much about horses from this channel, it's awesome ❤
@Sine-gl9ly10 ай бұрын
You're right to think of 'moving on' lesson horses to what is - hopefully - a forever home, before _too_ long. It's good for _them_ , it's good for a family or individual who want a genuine, realistic 'known quantity' and it's also good for whichever new horse needs gou to find him or her! When I bought ponies to rehab, my aim was _always_ to move them on. There were only a few who never left me. A couple were too old, and a couple were too 'difficult' (mentally damaged), and those, my conscience wouldn't let me let them go _anywhere_ 'away' until ... you know. And one was just ... adorable. But I didn't have all the keepers at once, of course!

Hi Shae! Anyone who has rescued animals all their life understands your mission. I've rescued dogs for over thirty years. You love every animal you save, as if they're your own, so you can't help but shed tears when they go. It's truly emotional but there's only one of you with the talent & skills to transform the horses into safe, loving pets. W/o you, 99% of the horses would have a very different outcome. You can see that every horse's personality is as different as every person's personality, so you're able to successfully match them to their forever home. Most people need you to invest the quality time upfront so they're able to pick up where you left off & experience the joys of owning a horse. Bless you for all that you do for the horses & the people who adopt them. ❤

Indeed. Imagine Belle hadn't been in foal. Then she would have been carefully trained for a year, just to get sick at the point where she was ready to be sold. Having had gorgeous Esmeralda out of her, sweetens the deal of now having an incurably sick horse instead, at least a little bit. Or so I would imagine.

The foals cavorting around with the ball was just great. I know that saddlebred is only a small percentage of Esmeralda‘s heritage, but it really comes out in those moments when she gets excited and struts. And Ariel‘s quarter horse heritage does, too. She’s got quite the stop on her.

You run a business in a very loving and heart type environment. But in the end, it is a business. You need to do what you need to do, and your the boss. I think what people have a problem with, it's they will miss the horse(s) as you sell them. For me when you sold Jafar I was sad, but it's no biggie as he's in a loving home, and you will ensure they all find loving homes. As a business owner you can't let the people get to you emotionally. It's your business not theirs. You are doing beautifully and you and Kyle are rockin it!!

Not exactly the same situation but I hear the same thing volunteering for a dog rescue-- people asking how someone can hand a dog over to an adoptive home after fostering them. - I always say I would rather shed a tear seeing them off to their forever happy home than cry because they are to be euthanized because I was unwilling to get attached. It is not easy to love and let go but so thankful for people who do so- Thanks Shae and Kyle for sharing this journey... may the blessings always outweigh the heartaches.....

The babies were so happy today😄! If they were that interested the ball in that short of time, they will figure it out in no time at all! Your horses are kind of like your kids. Everything you teach them prepares them for their next step in life. When shift them to their next step, they won’t be afraid of their humans, will be able to blend into a new herd, and they’ll have amazing manners with other animals and people as well! If you don’t feel sad to let them go, then the bonding experience isn’t complete, if you are bonded then the horse can guide their new family into the same kind of bond 🫶🏻❣️

I bought a big pink one for my APHA filly 'Angel' and she cuddles it against her front legs, and has learned to shove it with her front leg (on command) for a hay pellet. I also rub it on her, bounce it gently against her sides, and balance it on her back, letting if fall off on it's own. She stands at a WHOA during that without her halter, knowing she will get a pellet. I also put it in her big water trough for her to play with when I'm not around. So fun!
