Ive read many of the comments here. The thing about music is that it invokes imagery, emotions, fantasy, longings. This song does it all. I've read many comments about longing for another time, a time of real-life experience and struggle. A time when what was yours was yours and could only be taken by force. A time when family ties were as strong as iron and the land was the lifeblood of the hearth. A time when the balance between mother and father in the home was respected, each knowing their duty without complaint. A time when the Gods of our ancestors lived strong in the heart of the folk. A time when we did not know too much as we do now and the world was still full of mystery and magic. I long for that time and age as well.

Haren94 In Finland,Sweden,norway there are alot of private owned forest. But we have a law that is basically called "right to public access" you can go into the woods and pick berries and mushrooms and camp if you want even if its "privately owned" But you cant cut down trees because those belong to the owner. I meet hikers/ sometimes hunters were my family own some forest. In Nordic countries we believe that everybody should get the chance to be in the forest and enjoy life. We have no problem with this.

I'm nearly 7000 words into writing the story that this has inspired in me. I have repeated this track countless times and it has now reached a depth of imagery for me that few pieces have the capacity to do. I may be a dreamer and capable of finding wondrous worlds in most pieces of stimulus that come my way, but Otrodinn is truly next-level. Thank you Adrian. As always, your creations speak to me in a way that not much else can.

Welp, the norse in my blood suddenly needs a big hall and a roaring fire.
I have a tiny percentage of Scandinavian in me genetically yet Nordic music speaks to my soul deep within me. I like dancing to it on the beaches or sitting quietly with headphones. My warrior times are over now...at 73 I finally get to relax.... and enjoy. It must be empowering to sit by a fire in winter with the Lights above. I am Canadian. Husband and sit by the ocean, Salish Sea, in all weather. We bring out our chairs and hot coffee and enjoy the elements...all weather sun gales rain snow...only hail stops us❤.

Music such as this inspired me to write my book, which also has elements of Nordic Folklore. I absolutely love this piece of art and I listen to it whenever I need to lay back and visualise the settings. The raven sounds blending in with the slow rising melody is such a beauty. I feel very connected to nature when I listen to Nordic music on a cloudy day. I live in sunny California in the cities so it’s easy to forget that we all came from nature. Sometimes on cloudy days, I just put this music on, stand outside and take a few minutes to breathe in order to ground myself and remind myself of our origins as humans.

I can see them wandering, marching through the forest; the crisp spiky leaves poking through their worn shoes, stabbing at their feet. It is freezing cold and yet they continue in their bulky old fur jackets torn from the very animals they ate. But it wasn't just animals that they hunted, but they also hunted humans, seeking their treasures and riches. Jewel's and suffering however brought fear into the land and although the Viking's were mighty their consciences were drooping. They chanted and chanted trying block out the guilt; the regret but every victim left a stamp, a scar. They slowly turned to madness one by one and so they continued, hollow and heartless walking through the icy, snowy forest like clockwork. I can see them.

cellochicita hiya there, how are you doing, you know, when you said you were reading for a history essay , i thought at least you have smth to do, and being here doing nothing that just doesn't bode well with me, and as it happens it is rainy and very calm, just the perfect time to read smth so would you be kind enough to refer to some good book on Vikings and medieval Europe if possible ? thx in advance and sorry for my broken English
@cellochicita8 жыл бұрын
Mohamed Lalioui hello! I'm afraid I'm not really an expert on vikings or a good book about them, but the book I was reading was called The Vikings in History by F. Donald Logan. It was only OK, and it talked more about the study of vikings in history, but the author is an expert on medieval Europe, so it touches on that as well. If you choose not to read it, I hope you find a good book to read regardless! Thanks for your comment!

If you really want a good book about the Norse, pick up a good translation of the Icelandic sagas. They're not what most people think of when they think of Vikings (in fact they're surprisingly gritty and realistic and have very little in them that has to do with mysticism or magic) but they're awesome. My favorite is Njall's Saga, which is the tale of a peaceable Christian man who (despite being gifted with a certain amount of prescience and a firm faith in his beliefs) is unable to stop his entire being destroyed by a lingering blood feud that is largely the fault of his niece Halgred Longlegs and her greed and overweening arrogance. It ends tragically for all concerned, but hey...by one man or woman's will many may woe endure!

Mohamed Lalioui I have a book series about vikings, though it may not be very historically accurate as it's fiction. I find it's still a cool series. Its called the Brotherband Chronicles by John Flanagan.

Music is the best thing humanity ever invented. It speaks without words, and is understandable to any heart. I'm not the one of the northren folk, yet I find these vibes enthralling, I wasn't born to the forests and chilling sea, yet I hear their call in these notes. The music, better that any other thing, makes you understand that at our cores, we are all the same. Same species in the one big world. So different, yet so similar.

Once a long time ago I saw a strong, tall red headed man with a full beard in a parking lot. He looked true Viking as if he just stepped out of a movie or out of time. I didn't talk to him I only watched in awe. I was afraid to talk to him, afraid it would spoil my image I was so enjoying. Hearing this song brings back that day from my youth. The lesson learned is sometimes its better to hold an imagine than the truth.
