@@adventureot LOL, the video with the huts, and the unwanted "hut mates" and those awkwardnesses.....bit me at my "adventure". The campsite above mine was and old vietnam vet....having flashbacks.....I was hoping he'd think I was part of his platoon. And, 2 VERY LOUD TALKING GUYS came in around 11:30pm. They TALKED VERY LOUDLY as they split firewood. I just laughed............it's my luck. Still, a good story for the memory bank! Your adventure looked like a ton of fun. Thx

I like your videos very much especially as you treat your dog good and keep her warm while out camping. I dont know whether you are but are you subscribed to Abel and Victoria another New Zealand couple. It's mostly Abel camping as his wife has just had a baby so it's him mostly. He is often up the top of hills in snow and rain camping. I would check him out if your not subscribed.

👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. Good Evening Cathy .. Your Tent .. it reminds me of something Lady Gaga replied to, when asked what Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had said to her on her being presented to the Queen after her Royal Variety Performance, which Her Majesty had attended .. "You have a very big piano." 😁. The piano was three metres high! 😏. Caves .. always to be entered with care .. FOG's .. Falls of Ground. It pays to do some research beforehand on how to recognise loose / friable 'hangingwall' and 'sidewalls' (roof and sides). Even little rocks falling can hurt or worse. I worked in the South African Gold Mining Industry so I have some insight into this. Cathy, better safe than sorry. Hiking Poles .. experience (observing that of others), I avoid the Carbon Fibre ones and stick to Aluminium Poles. They may be a wee bit heavier, but are more robust and easier to repair in the field if need be (carbon fibre is great until it fails .. without warning). A broken aluminium pole .. a stick whittled to fit inside the pole, some duct tape (I keep some wound around each pole) and Voila! .. you have an ersatz splint 😊. A good one .. thanks for sharing and until next time then, take care .. Tommy.
@adventureotКүн бұрын
That would be a very 'grand' piano indeed. Oh yes, I hear what you are saying about cave dwelling for sure. I think it is more a pipe dream than something I would end up doing because (in part) due to the things you raise. There are a lot of hazards when entering a cave, especially if you then plan to stay. I think a nice rock overhang might be more suitable. I will keep my eyes peeled on my journeys. You have reminded me of my school trip to Gold Reef City and the trip down the mine. I like your reflections on aluminium vs carbon fibre poles. Of course I bought two days ago....... 2x carbon fibre trekking poles. Oh well. Hopefully they hold up.
@thomasmusso1147Күн бұрын
@@adventureot 👍😊 . Yes, 'Crown Mines' at Gold Reef City was once the largest and most productive gold mines in the region and contributed greatly to the growth of Johannesburg and the Witwatersrand. Visited it .. but we Deep Level 'Mining Ou's' considered it shallow 'grass roots' mining 😏, considering we were down past 2500m and digging deeper 😁. I'm sure that your carbon fibre poles will hold up fine .. until they 'splinter' 😏 .. hopefully never 🤞. You carry quote heavy loads which will transfer to the poles. As long as you are aware of this, all will be fine. Thanks for raising 'Gold Reef City' .. it brought back a heap of memories to mull over ..

Good Morning Cathy and Indy from Aus .Had a chuckle😂 watching you and Indy both inside the tent when you where putting it up ,would have been a funny sight for a fellow camper passing by 🤣loved the tent it really is so spacious also the mini insect tent inside specially loved that feature and awnings is a bonus, so happy for you it was because of the wind that made difficult to put up last time ,so just have to check wind conditions when next time if you wanted to take it again👍.The water fall Cathy was something else, sitting having your breakfast oh how much i would love to be there I am so jelly also happy for you to be able to share with us ,such a beautiful day after night of snow what more would you want 👍❤I have a Q Indy what was she transfixed on when you got back to your tent having your coffee ,she looked like a statue she was so still ,such a beautiful girl 🤗anywho thank you so very much once again for your hard efforts both you and Indy and roll on 10k sending love and blessings💞🙏
