Thanks everyone for watching. Do you tend to capture darker more dramatic images or brighter high key scenes? Please let me know below. 👇

I've fallen more into event photography: car shows, ren fairs, friends/family gatherings . . . etc. So the two main factors that affect me are the physical space I have to work with (indoor vs outdoor) and the time of day/lighting conditions. So, for example, with an indoor event, a 24-70/2.8 is essential to deal with limited space, but it also has the option to have a greater focal length at the turn of a ring.
@Decimator92

For me, it'll depend on the particular scene and the conditions. I might gravitate to a high key image in a sunny desert or beach scene but a misty forest wet cityscape calls for a darker, more dramatic image IMO.

I love your video and your work. I do a lot of photography in the swamps from a kayak here in Florida and I have a technique that I can use a tripod setup for a long exposures without putting my tripod in the water with certain compositions. Other times I use self made custom tripod extension legs for really deep water. Being in an unsteady boat photographing is a real challenge and it is easy to forget where you are.

Great video :) I really like how the light hit the trees at the beginning. I was surprise to see you’re shooting at f16 / f18, etc. ! Is it related to the type of lens you’re using? My sony lenses are usually sharper at f8/9 and I don’t see close foreground. Also, wouldn’t iso 640 be better than 500 since your camera is probably iso invariant? Cheers!

@MichaelShainblum
@MichaelShainblum 7 ай бұрын
All of my shots here were telephoto from about 100-200 at the start of the video and some at 400 towards the end. The only thing settings wise that was affected was the shutter-speed which just needed to be high enough for the starting handheld shots. The focal length had minimal affect on settings for the rest of the images. I would have used the same settings shooting wide.

Thanks, glad you like it, so when they gave me this one they actually called it a solo canoe, since the whole sitting area is open, but to be honest I have no clue whats what.
