My dad was only 3 when this catalog came out, wow. This is a pretty cool video looking at some of the stuff that was played with or sold as gifts from back then.

Good video! It's very interesting to see the difference between what types of items that were sold back then and the price differences compared to today. The banana seat bikes are the best. They probably quit making those in the 70's or early 80's.

+Guitar_Gary I wonder if they faded away in the 70's. I don't recall seeing them in the 80's.

I watch the vid for the old catalog, and the asmr tingles just happen, so many asmr vids are to boring to watch and i can't understand their whispering, and the asmr tingles never happen. Yours work for me, thanks for making them

Another one of your wayback catalog videos :) I enjoy them, not only for the ASMR, which you've mastered imho. But I graduated HS in 1971 and you show things that take me back, which is a nice fit with the ASMR.

I love your anecdotal commentary in this video. I was 4 or 5 when this Catalogue was new, so it was awesome seeing stuff that I actually do remember from the early 70's. Don't remember Jarts though but my mom wouldn't have let me and my twin sister within miles of it anyway lol.

In 1971 I was 10 years of age, and read nearly every page of this catalog and many other years. I had one of the Sears Spyder bikes, probably the 5-speed shown at upper right 14:54 but it was purple, of course.

Sorry to hear about your bike. I too had a yellow and black Huffy that was stolen when I was a kid.
@RelaxingASMR8 жыл бұрын
+HanselHazelnut I did get mine back though. Where we lived, all bikes had to be registered (licensed) and thanks to the license decal on the rear fender, the police were able to identify it when a fisherman pulled it from the river about a year after it was stolen. I vividly remember the evening that a squad car pulled in front of our house. I was excited when one of the officers said they had found my bike, but my heart sank when it was removed from the trunk of the police car. The yellow and black Huffy Dragster was no longer usable. All that time in the river had done a number to it. The rust was incredible:(
