Not one fan was ready for this. But take into consideration how long ago Naruto started and when Kishimoto finally revealed Itachi's story. Shippuuden's main plot culminates around Naruto's journey to return Sasuke back to the light. so ironically, Kishimoto's idea of Itachi is truly the center of Naruto. The reaction video really hits the feels!

I still say it hits harder than Jiraiya because this has been a recurring story piece since Naruto and we always saw what itachi wanted us to see. It's been the plan for years at this point, so the whole reveal in tandem with Sasuke's character arc is a gut punch.

But the tragedy of it is that Itachi was still wrong. Instead of building a relationship with the brother he loved so much, he chose to close himself off and manipulate Sasuke from the outside. Chose to abandon him, even once Sasuke was older.

Itachi was a once in a generation prodigy with unlimited potential - but because of that potential, was shoved into positions he was not mature enough to handle, and made bad choices because he lacked that maturity. Remember, he was _eleven_ when inducted into ANBU and placed under immense conflicting loyalties between his clan and village. He was _thirteen_ when Danzo forced him to murder his family by threatening his little brother. These are positions no literal _child_ should find themselves in, _ever,_ no matter how much of a prodigy they are.

Itachi told his father to trust him and stop the coup, but his father didn't listen to him. At the backstory I forgot what chapter, itachi father said he's sorry for his son itachi because he didn't trust him enough, he didn't trust him enough to bring their clan into prominence again, and said to itachi he's sorry because he stole his son future , as they all believe that itachi would become the youngest hokage.

It doesn't matter how much of a genius and mature itachi was, those circumstances forced upon itachi were something NO ONE should have the burden of baring, much less at itachi's young age.

and still there are people who do not understand how good naruto is. which other series has done this so well? turned a loathed character everyone hates, into one of their favorites in 1 scene. the best part is, this isnt even the first time naruto did this, nor even the first time the series told us something didnt fit, but it was so well told and well hidden, that it always catch people by surprised when its revealed. now naruto isnt the best shonnen manga of all time, nor the bet battle manga, but, it does have the most well done villains(for the most part). people hated zabuza, and yet cried for him when he died, people disliked lee when he showed up, thinking he was just a joke, and yet he became a fan favorite, people despised gaara, but after the arc was done, he had risen to become one of the most beloved. and then there's itachi, for the longest time, people cused at him, thought of him as the most dangerous and heartless the series had to offer, and even though we saw oroshimaru commit atrocious acts, in the heart of many, noone was more vilified than itachi... and then this revelation comes, and it hits harder than anyone was ever prepared for. the real sad thing is how people forgot how good it is, and even went as far as to talk about other series like my hero academia as better... and yet, here we are, with multiple villains as memorable as the heroes, with twists and turns that will wrench your guts out, and emotional moments with no equal in the genre. every time i saw those comparissons i could do nothing but laugh. and as it went on, and react started to flourish, people started to remember how good naruto really was. there's a reason why it was for the longest time the biggest competitor to one piece. and it deserved every ounce of success it gained.

Now the anime is wherr it gets tricky cause naruto may have done better at some points, I don't remember the data right now but I can belive it (no pun intended). Now if we brin opinions into thr matter, the fact that naruto destroyed it's own world and rules and ended up just being pew pew laser beams kinda like dragon ball style just sucks for me so I gotta give it to one piece overall.

@@redbloodbluemoon1423 the only reason why people love jiraiya was because he was a father figure to naruto but as a shinobi he did nothing to progress naruto into a great shinobi Yamato and Kakashi had to do most of the work after the timeskip the only thing he taught naruto was the basic rasengan compare to what tsunade did with sakura and what orochimaru did with sasuke its meaningless which is why naruto struggled at the beginning of shippuden and had to rely on kuruma which harmed him and his teammates

@@kabelodladla2492 EXACTLY. Jiraiya sucked as a sensei to Naruto. Sasuke and Sakura came out much stronger and Naruto struggled with basic stuff despite being trained by one of the sannin. He wasn't all that useful against Deidara. Itachi only used 30% of his chakra and had his attention on Kakashi as well, and STILL Naruto couldn't come out of his Genjutsu and needed lady chiyo and Sakura's help. People loving characters because they're nice to Naruto is a terrible reason to love them. Jiraiya, Kakashi, Tsunade, Ichiraku shop guy, all of them are there for naruto, hence fan favorites. I hate Iruka because he acted like Naruto was the only orphan there and Sasuke, a genocide survivor, didn't exist. I judge characters in Naruto how they treated Sasuke and Itachi.

This and Zabuza and Haku's death were the times where Kishimoto's(the one who created Naruto) weakness truly shined and became a positive.My biggest problem with Naruto is that so many villains have a tragic backstory. It gets so tiring after a while. Some people are just bad people. In fiction and in life. But not everyone needs a reason to be a bad person. The bad balances the good.
