Song of the day: Relax Your Mind. Written in 1949 by LeadBelly. Had to write to ask permission, the only cover I’ve recorded. The LeadBelly Foundation was stoked but not about the swear word in the 3rd verse. I told them the idea was to relax your mind even if you’re offended and that I had a dream and met LeadBelly and his guitar Stella and asked if they liked the song and if it was ok. They said yes and so did the Foundation! The song is 70 years old but the version is not. We did take a sound byte of his voice and put it in the song, "One time, you gotta relax your mind". This song is also part of the LeadBelly Collection in the Smithsonian! Very honored. Very proud. Was a wonderful dream. LeadBelly was a hard ass but he was cool. Much love out there.
