Assuming you seeing this for the first time, how cam you read and understand the contacts and connections. 4. What are it application and at what instance do you go for one

1 The contacts are used to connect the load once the relay coil is energised, 2 Relay is a switch, thermal overload protects the circuit against overload current(preferably motors) 3 All relays have configuration drawings that can guide you on common, supply and throw contacts. 2 Relays are mostly used in instrumentation and control circuits(low-current circuits). Instead of a contactor, you can use a relay to control a batch of lights as long as the total load current doesn't exceed the relay rating.
