I’m more hyped than I feel I should be about this game given the last two installments in the series. I’m warming up to the stylization of the characters and I’m hoping the game really delivers on its promises where the companions’ arcs are concerned.

The deluxe edition just including cosmetics is nice. I mean it should just be normal that when they sell a game, they sell the whole game at a single price point. I recovered from that initial reveal trailer and was already excited before this trailer, but now I’m even more excited! We’re going to get so much Solas and I can’t wait for that.

It says so much when it really should be normal doesn't it? Yet it comes as a pleasant surprise. I'm already theorizing on the trailer wondering if everything we saw is in the game or of its *potential*, could they be flashbacks? Visions of what could happen? Now's the time where all the excitement is starting to build and I've really gotta finish my re-play of Inquisition.

The Morrigan reveal was exciting, and her wearing her mother's crown makes me wonder if this really is Morrigan, or is she Flemeth now? (Isn't the entire point of Flemeth having daughters was so she could use them as vessels when her previous one gets too old or dies?). Also, Scout Harding freezing those darkspawn? ghouls? It reminded me of when Sandal froze that darkspawn ogre. I know that Harding will begin manifesting magical abilities but she's clearly not the first one. Sandal was exhibiting them way back in Origins and it's been a long-held mystery as to how he was able to wield magic. We got some hints with the Deep Roads DLC from Inquisition (I won't spoil it for you), but I hope we get a more definitive answer to that in this game. Plus, I hope we see Sandal again!

I never had a doubt about this game. But yes, this trailer was amazing. I wish it was the first reveal. There are a few spoilers, but im sure there's so much more. The price is 80 in europe. The delux edition cosmetics arent intersting. I will preorder a bit later. I want to see if BW offer a better bundle than skins.

I'm not one who cares that things get spoiled so a trailer that announces things like this is a good thing as far as I'm concerned, gives us hope. But I will withhold judgment of this game until I get to see the high level combat. I absolutely hate when a game removes options, even ones I don't often use, so they have a large hill to climb to get me exited again. If the high level game play does nothing to show why we can't use a companion character I'll still be quite upset. One of Inquisitions best features was that I could play every class and sup-class without needing to start over and we can't get that in Vail Guard. At least not that I can think of, maybe they will add something like they did in Mass Effect Andromeda and allow for on the fly changing. All said, I'm still hopeful this game won't suck, I just don't want to get all hyped and be let down again.

I'm definitely ticked off that of all the things they could stick behind a preorder paywall is the Origins Blood Dragon armor. That feels like a bit of a middle finger to the Origins die-hard fans who they've consistently thrown shade at since the shitty character trailer dropped. I still hate the companion skin styles, but the game itself looks really pretty. If they managed to take it off the tracks so players have some agency, I'd be OK with it. not sold on the combat, but those finishers are delightfully reminiscent of Alistair scaling and Ogre. Love that. The voice acting and character animations/mocap looks/sounds beautiful. I may not find them particularly attractive/still being overly cartoony, but Emmrich and Belara are at least tolerable to look at now and won't shatter my immersion being in the party. That is a HUGE improvement. We'll see. not being able to get the blood dragon armour without pre-order is really upsetting. It feels deliberately passive aggressive. Despite that, I'm actually looking forward to catching this AFTER a few post release full clear review from reputable non-community panel reviewers. It's gone from a fairly hopeless "nope" to a "huh, I'd like to play this as a last hurrah to my Dragon Age obsession once it goes on sale".

The trailer sword and shield bash animations drives me crazy. I see no weight to it and connection of the animations. I like the trailer more than the trash they showed so far. But even now it just looks ok.

After i learned you will NOT control companions in this game like you did/could in DA1,2,3.. And they are just running around like mindless zombies in a "party" with you.. I'm not supporting this title.

You will have direct control of your companions abilities in combat. You just wont be able to swap over to them.

Wow if they put a new coat of paint on a wreck you lot will call it a dream machine without a hint of Irony, I really hope EA are paying you for this coverage, because i've seen Mainstream games journalists be more realistic. The Gameplay and every article has told us it's barebones mechanics that may actually make Andromeda look like a competent RPG by comparison. So thanks to the bloke in the video and all the Seals clapping along in the comments, you are why Dragon Age has fallen this low. You all deserve the trainwreck this is going to be, I just hope it finally puts DA and Bioware to rest.

Really? I mean it definitely doesnt sound like its going to have the system bloat of Inquisiton but dang we must have been reading different articles! But cheers! I'm sorry that it doesnt sound like a game you'll enjoy. But thankfully there's a lot of other great RPGs out there, several of them coming soon, too. Hell if you're looking for more CRPG or "old" Bioware, maybe check out what Spiders is up to with Greedfall 2, their changes are directly inspired by DA:O. Have a great day BardicGM.

@@RedbeardflynnRollsAOne System Bloat? Inquisition was prooned with a chainsaw compared to Origins. With this new one don't even have a party, you have invulnerable followers that do nothing until you give the command ala Mass Effect and have dialogue so limp Fall out 4 is calling it out for the lack of options. Also look at the gameplay, rogues flinging magic without prompt and all the enemies have projected targeting decals as a default feature. They're breaking thie rown setting and lowering the combat difficulty to a point low-budget MMO's and action platformers designed for seven years olds have more respect for the players abilities. You're celebrating a franchise that they've managed to hit rock bottom and start digging.

@@BardicGM Bloat as in systems that are unnecessary and do not add to the game. To me DA:O is far more accessible and meaningful than Inquisition in the systems it did use, but it also had less. Inquisition had a lot of bloat to it and a lot more to it than DA:O. I think you might be making some assumptions here on difficulty of DA:V and of companions on things we dont know. Invulnerable companions is one way to look at the fact that if *you* die your game over, compared to prior DA games where you can die and swap over to another companion. It also sounds like we should be getting an overview of high level combat next week so perhaps that's worth looking into, but if you're uninterested, I'd again suggest perhaps looking to other franchises for your gaming fun. I will, however, continue to celebrate a series I've loved and continue to enjoy. @@Abimin100 well let’s see, you don’t get access to extra missions unless you pay a premium price, not included in the base game. That’s what a paywall is, so it seems you have no clue. I wouldn’t buy this Fortnite looking shit anyway, Dragon age has been and was always meant to be dark fantasy. Not some Fortnite cartoony crap to appeal to a “modern audience “.

When you add a price to the game for extra content not included in the game then that is a paywall. I am tired of not getting the full game without extra cost.
