It cannot be overstated how fucking incompetent Ubisoft are for cancelling Heartlands. Of all the titles they hoped would be a hit, none of them came through but the one game that would have been a success they dismissed. It's clear there was a wealth of interconnecting lore between Division 2 and Heartlands, and when you consider that the game was pretty much complete (I saw the final closed test that Heartlands had, it was in the final stage and looked amazing...) it makes me less sympathetic to Ubisofts current troubles. I just hope that all of the game data wasn't purged so at some point in the near future they can go back and resurrect the project.

I wouldn't be surprised if Heartland gets added to Div 3. They were too far along in its development, to just get scrapped. Maybe Heartland didn't fit in with what they had planned for the regular game?

Usually they'll fold games and concepts from projects into new things that they're working on. I doubt it would be completely trashed especially with the internal changes happening within Ubisoft, it just wouldn't make sense.

I recently replayed the campaign (and all the side missions) on a new account. The whole story about hunters voices being scrambled to protect their anonymity, is a complete bs retcon. I saved the side mission (near the end of the campaign) where we encounter the hunter (in Dist East) until I was level 40 and way overpowered (so I couldn't be downed) I had a subtitle/caption setting on that shows all coms, not just the main dialog. First there was 2 hunters. I definitely didn't remember it that way from my previous playthroughs, and I never saw the 2nd hunter during the entire fight. But after being shocked into stunlock, I watched them both walk out having a conversation (that wasn't audible, but did appear through the subtitles/caption) about how "that was a close one" and how it could have gone differently. I wish I would have been recording, because it definitely threw me for a loop. I almost couldn't believe what I had just watched.

That must be something they've changed in recent times because I have played through the campaign twice, and due to poor hearing I have all subtitles on in all my games. I don't recall there being two Hunters or any dialogue from the Hunter. Perhaps when they decided to expand all the lore about Hunters and have them as a focal point of the narrative going forward they went back and altered that interaction?? Also, in my playthroughs it didn't matter how weak or strong you are because you were only stunlocked until the Hunter disappeared in a burst of smoke.

What I am confused about (and this might be due to me being out of the loop with the game a little), is why Calvin doesn't already have those names. I thought the whole Division program was "under" his supervision.

The list was taken from Calvin's database. I would say he still has that list, but now Keener does too. The question I have, is what information on the agents does the list have?

@@NGN The lists are different. Clvin has a list of the old guard. Kinner has a list of Tusk hunters. The only question is the 3rd group and the hunter lieutenants themselves. Because some of the hunters get their orders from an unknown person. The only question is: From whom? And also, what kind of independent investigation are the old guard hunters doing? Because there's a record of it.

From the way that Donovan Tower talks to Reed, especially calling her "Agent", I would speculate that he's not a Division agent. He obviously knows Reed, and knows that she's a Division Agent, but it almost sounds more like he's JTF than Division. The timeline is also a bit weird in some of this. For example, most of Broken Dawn takes place 5 months after April Kelleher's husband is killed. And, by the conclusion, she arrives in DC literally just a week or so before we're called there. At that point most of the city is a mess and the DCD HQ is being used by the Outcasts to manufacture green poison. And yet the person from the labs in Ann Arbor is telling Tower to contact the DCD if he wants samples of the virus. Hasn't most of the country broken down at that point? Why would they be doing anything other than trying to help him knowing that he's one of the few people out there still actively researching the virus and potentially trying to save everyone in the country? Yet she sounds like the clips that you pick up in NYC in the first game where pharmaceutical firms are saying it'll blow over and they should hold off releasing anything so that they can make more money. Which is literally a couple of days after green poison was released. Also, Tower is asking Reed whether MIT is ready with their broad spectrum antivirus. Which implies she's in Boston at MIT. And a certain level of research must still be going on there months after the green poison was initially released. Was Boston less hard hit? Seems unlikely given the death rate. So how is MIT still working on an antivirus? How does Tower know that is the case? And why is it that's never been mentioned before anywhere? Hunter Bunker. LOL. Is that some sort of trademark? Although it does imply that the Hunters have set up bunkers in multiple locations where they likely store equipment and armour so that they can conduct their missions just like the ones that existed for Division Agents and we saw in The Division: Hunted. Although it's never been explained why Hunter weapons hit so damn hard. I get the axe. But one shot with a regular weapon pretty much takes all your armour away. So they obviously store their super secret plot reinforced Hunter weapons and ammo there as well. 🙄😆 As you say, why would the information in the Hunter Bunker make so much difference to the Hunter program? And why is Cal so worried if it's in a Hunter Bunker that only Hunters can access? Although obviously the information was retrieved for Keener, and it allowed him to identify every agent that's a Hunter. He just didn't get to the point of being ready to initiate his program before he had to play dead. Although that also doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I get we're still trying to get to Theo to get the team back together, but it definitely seems more like a plot convenience that he wasn't ready to initiate when Keener had to fake his death. Although Keener had plenty of time to do something between then and when Bridgette Douglas was killed as part of the Faye Lau manhunt. More plot conveniences. All I can imagine is that it's an Excel spreadsheet which contains the columns - first name, middle name, last name, home address, watch ID, recruited by, stationed, latest status, hunter y/n. That way even Keener could figure out whether the agent was a Hunter without having to do too much work. Though why Cal would leave that in a Hunter Bunker is anyone's guess. Is it like the guy that is always leaving his clipboard behind, only it's electronic? Why that couldn't be deleted remotely is anyone's guess. The technology to RSH into servers has existed since the 80s. If Cal had someone with even a modicum of IT knowledge they could figure it out. Unless it's in an air-gapped machine that is not physically connected to any network. But, obviously, when the Hunter picked up the information it wasn't deleted as Hoskins was able to waltz in and pick it up. And she made no mention of running into Hunters and having to kill them. So she either got in before the Hunter and made a copy, though it sounds like she retrieved the USB, or she came afterwards and picked up a USB that the Hunter somehow left behind. Yet another plot convenience. Anyway, always interested to hear this stuff. It's neat background if nothing else. Though we'll have to see how much plays into the current season as was the case last season. Cheers for posting, mate!

I do think Jessica Kandel is in that same area. I thinks shes in Michigan. Would like to hear what she's been up to as of late. But im here because of something else. I need help with something. During this season so far, at the Castle, if you go to the electric panel next to Vik, just like a few seasons ago, during Puppeteers, and switch it on, a purple light comes on and you follow that light towards the globe thing and there is a recording with a Hunters axe. Now this may seem familiar from that Puppeteers season, but I dont know if its a glitch,replaying something old or something new because back then, there was a BLUE light you had to follow, not PURPLE. I tried looking all over to see if anyone has tried the same thing, but nothing. Idk if im the 1st to notice that or not, but if anyone has any insight on it, let me know please and lets try to figure this out together if it is anything.
