I've heard that WB had made the decision to cancel the Swamp Thing series even before the first season had aired. The show was popular and critically acclaimed, but it didn't matter -- after the first season was produced, the network felt it was just too expensive to continue with.

Swamp Thing has traditionally got the "Cult Classic" treatment.. this was the first time they ever did the character any justice. The OG movies are classic B movies because they're not well made, but fun to watch. You can see for yourself.. The Return of Swamp Thing is free on KZbin, that's how bad it is.

The director of the scientific Corp was the only original character. From the original movie. Every1 else was replaced by newer ppl. But this version is just WAY better as far as Gore factor .they even went with the original plot and concept. I Its pretty much the original but up upgraded to today's version. It's good, but they made the same mistake every superhero show makes. Every single time they compromise them, and make it so someone has to save them. Plus they put all they're eggs in one basket. Shouldn't have even been a counter villain created for a while. Shouldn't have shown any real weaknesses for a while. Just kind of bad pacing. It was good though. Just needed a bit more patience, less exposition. There was literally someone to show up and explain everything too conveniently. Really shouldn't have even found out it was Alec until second season or so. Maybe even found his body before he did. Too much resolved too quickly.
