I can't help loving this theme despite what it's associated with. It has a dramatic edge, with enough boldness to basically say "We're the Daleks, we're here to take your entire freedom away and turn you into a slave, fuck you." Whilst I can say that "A Dark and Endless Dalek Night" is certainly better at pulling that off [and it's longer], I do like this theme. And the Paradigm too. Sure, the colours were a bit off, and one of them didn't do anything [Looking at you, Eternal], but the sleeker body, the increased height and the new voices were just overall better. The voices especially - good god, their voices are heavenly. Should definitely have been used more though. That being said, you still can't replace the Time War Daleks. They're too good.

Had the Paradigm not been sidelined (and eventually abandoned), the Eternal Dalek would probably have become the focus of a story. For "not doing anything", we should look at the Scientist Dalek, who is never* seen again after Victory. *As the Scientist Dalek - the prop was used to portray the static stone dalek in The Big Bang, whilst the Strategist plays the active stone dalek.

For a thing that looks like a pepperpot with a plunger for a hand the freakout about daleks with colours was pretty absurd. Their functions were so interesting and their designs, at the very least beyond the colour, are great (eyestalk, size etc.). Colour schemes are nothing unusual for daleks, though these were a bit random and all over the place it's only one superficial part of the design that people have been repeating jokes about for a full decade. I think these daleks looked good and people were too quick to judge any change negatively after the paradigm getting not even half an episode worth of screen time, but even if the design was worse, them getting re-replaced by the bronze ones ones was violating the plot for the sake of fan service. It didn't and doesn't make sense in universe that they just stopped existing. I am doomed to remain forever salty about their fate.

I'm just annoyed that the show still uses Time War-era daleks even to this day. It lessens the feel of them being, y'know, *from the time war* (more or less) when they're just the standard designs

It would still look like shit 40 years ago...but people probably wouldn't care as much. The fact that we can make so many good looking models now, there is no excuse for the shit they gave us here.

You know, out of all five of these new Dalek types, we've only seen two actually do anything (three if you count the video games). Only the Supreme (White) and Drone (Red). Again, technically the Strategist (Blue) is in the video games, but seriously. Come on, y'all! Where the hell are Iron Fist (Orange) and Eternal (Yellow)? Both of those sound like good field units, so get em' out here. Tax payers pay your salary Dalek Paradigm, so get off your cyclops octopus mutant asses and do something!
