Relentless Nation okay. In this video you guys covered several thing very well. One thing I would like you to show better if you do another roping video is talk about the correct arm and wrist movements in the swing, what beginners often do wrong, and transitioning consistently from the swing to the throw? Also, for a beginner, what advise can you give for transitioning from ground roping to roping off the horse, and from a dummy to a live animal?
@guadaluperivero86625 жыл бұрын
Buy you a roping dummy and a rope you comfortable with and practice a lot and look and listen to all videos of the greatest ropers cause each one of them have there own style and pick bits of advice from each and one of them
@michaeleaster40475 жыл бұрын
@@speed150mph learning to rope and to do it well doesn't happen as quickly people want it to, it takes time and commitment but it is a lot fun... everyone has to start somewhere even a hand like Trevor had to learn to swing a rope, he may of only like 1 when he did,lol. Point is don't get demoralized because you don't know something, if really what to then do it and do it well.. if a person learns the correct way from the start the less bad habits you'll have to break as you progress. .also really really learn how to ride, not stay on learn to ride well. .. i almost hate to say even a lot of pros are very poor horseman.. Now Trevor is a horseman he consistently rides his horse's well and in my opinion is one reason his horse's will last longer and work better than someone that doesn't have the horsemanship skills. .okay sorry about that but it is a must in my opinion. .Jake Barnes&Clay O'Brien Cooper have book i think it's called the the real way to practice or the right way to practice, i thought was must have, the have a video i think it is called the same as the book, it is definitely a excellent tool. Also Walt Woodard has some old videos really will help with learning to swing your rope, George Aeros has some where he uses some donkeys definitely help when you transition from the ground to the horse... Dally Up
@speed150mph5 жыл бұрын
Michael Easter thank you for that! Your so right. Right now my biggest issue is I don’t really have anybody I’m close to who knows how to do it well who can literally show me the ropes. There’s a lot of tutorials and videos on how to do it online, but without having someone watching you and giving you feedback your left troubleshooting yourself when things go wrong. I really wish I had someone to teach me, I’m still looking, but I’d like to find someone before I devote too much time at it just so I don’t start any bad habits that I will need to break later on down the road. As for horsemanship, I’ve worked long and hard on my horsemanship, despite being a little of a late bloomer when it comes to horses. Last year I started competing in local competitive trail and reining shows. In all of this, about the only thing I’m fairly confident in is my horsemanship skills. Anyways, thanks for your input. I appreciate it!

I have a question about belt buckle etiquette. How do competitive cowboys choose which buckle to wear daily? Is it always the latest win? The most prestigious win? What buckles do non-competition cowboys wear?
@RelentlessNation5 жыл бұрын
Josh White hey Josh, it’s all a matter of preference. Some guys wear the buckle from their favorite win. Some guys wear one that was given to them by someone that’s important to them. A lot of ranch cowboys will wear one that has their brand on it or has been made by their favorite buckle maker, and a lot of those makers also build bits and spurs. But it all comes down to whatever they prefer to wear because each person has one that means something special to them.
