I have the RS185 and 195 and they're great for watching movies late and loud. But there is one feature not mentioned, if you hold the mode button for 2 or 3 seconds on either the headphone or transmitter it turns off all EQ restrictions and becomes louder and stronger. It adds rumbling bass and volumes at 115+ decibels (if wanted). Its the only way I use them tbh, and so worth it

and its not just about bass, these fuckos turn donw any volume level to 5 euro earplugs as soon as any frequency enters the signal. even mids and highs, these phones should never have come to existence!!!!!!!!

they re also totally flat even if you do seperate equalization. even those 5 euro turkish blackmarket half wrecked earplugs do have more sound. no use and if you find that a worth mentioning "SOUND" for movies or whatever the source I feel more than sorry for your ears to misjudge this bad sorry dude ;)

I have a pair of the RS 175 for my wife and i when we are watching tv - movies . They are a must, no more what did he or she say , clear dialogue and the surround sound is amazing as well .

What is "too far away from the transmitter"? That is very subjective can you quantify it? You mentioned that people will not confuse these headphones with great sounding headphones... they cost about 300$ and that is a lot of money for some of us. Can you give you your opinion of their quality compared with the rest of the headphones in this price range? Thanks.

They need to do a Bluetooth 5.0 wireless headset with docking amplifier and a detachable mic. ANC and transparency after that point would just be extra butter.

I've had the rs180 for 7 years now, worked flawlessly i just wash the velvet ear pads few times per year and change the rechargeable batteries once or twice per year. Thousands of hours in use. Will buy Sennheiser's again in the future.

My RS180's just broke after 12 years of 4+ hours a day of use. It looks like this line of product ran into a dead end with the RS195 as final product? If I can't find anything newer (seems like the 195 is from 2015) I'll go for it I guess.

Hi Shane can you tell me in your opinion as to which are the better headphones the Sony MDR-HW700DS or the Sennheiser RS-195 , one thing i dont like about the Sony is its a lion battery where as the Sennheiser batteries can be replaced easy

Hi Shane. I collect gaming headphones and have been using one in particular to watch movies with. That’s the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. When eq’ed properly, it’s a good gaming headset, however, I imagine there is a far better headphone out there to watch movies with. That brings me to my question: Do you have a suggestion or two for movie watching headphones that have excellent audio quality? Thanks man.

Do they still have that static hissing sound when the sound is low? That always gets to me also I remember when there’s no sound for 2min it starts beeping continuously directly into your ear to lol…

I've had the last two generations of these and always loved them. Only issue with the older ones was the 2.4Ghz frequency which could lead to interface clipping. Switched all wifi devices in the house to 5Ghz to avoid this.

Hey Shane!! I just purchased some sennheiser rs 175 headphones for husband and wife movie time at night. I want surround quality if possible. The 175s weren’t surround sound enough for me. Sounds like the 195s wouldn’t be that for me either. Do you know of another option that isn’t quite to the price point of the JVC exofield?

Would love your input on a more “audiophile” way of watching movies (specifically) with headphones. I’ve been trying a number of solutions. No one seems to make anything that can replicate a surround setup through headphones. Currently running a Bluetooth DAC/amp to some open back headphones in stereo, which is the best setup I’ve found so far. Wish there was a way to get 5.1, 7.1, and/or Atmos properly mixed to binaural stereo for headphones in a relatively hifi way. Only options I’ve found are for gaming PCs and require soundcards and USB interfacing.

Are all RF headphones designed for watching TV only? I want a good pair of RF headphones to listen to music around the house. It seems that headphones designed for music usually seem to focus on Bluetooth. This technology does not work well for me because the signal usually fails as I get a couple of rooms away from my music source (my Imac). I'm surprised that TV headphones do not use Bluetooth, seeing you are never more than 10 feet, or so, from the source. The headphones in this review are currently $449 on Amazon... wow! People really want to invest in TV watching. Thanks for the review. Thumbs up.

RF is best for avoiding audio delay when watching video at the same time. That being said I use Arctis Pro Wireless and I am super happy with the music sound. Plus the swappable battery is genius, I never have to think about it
