I dream of being able to metal detect for such objects. I have the detectors and the skill. Just get me to the location and I'll find whatever is there. My most precious find so far is a civil war belt buckle that was very likely at Gettysburg and being it once belonged to a Union Soldier who survived that battle, it's a very rare find for Minnesota. All of those empty cases are bent because the troopers would step on them to prevent to Indians from reusing them....the desertions explain the dropped bullets. Great video

Neat! Custer was fearless and lucky during the Civil War. However, his decision-making style suffered from the same cognitive biases that many people have. Unfortunately, not knowing what he didn't know led to his destruction at the Little Big Horn, such as facing much greater firepower than anyone could have expected.
