iamrichrocker Thanks for the kind words. The peaceful forest on the one hand and its dark history on the other hand, is something that strikes us every time. Unless you were there yourself, 70 years ago, it's not possible to know how things were back then, but being at these locations, knowing its specific history, really gives you an impression of what went on there. Especially on those occasions when you get to speak to people who live around these locations or when reading eye-witness reports. We would recommend anyone to visit these locations, just to be there and to experience it yourself. Thanks for watching.

It just amazes me how the greatest generation is dying out. Although we still have all these relics (which are absolutely amazing), but the ones who personally fought, went through it are the ones that we need to cherish the most. We now have a generation which barely knows the start of WW2, and have absolutely no respect for the sacrifice they did. I'm 15 and I understand this more than a 50 year old. Thank you for showing past history! Hopefully one day, if ever, I'll be able to go back to the greatest generation and meet all those great men and women. Which I have, my great grandfather who had actually met General Patton and received Presidential Citation x3 for doing secret missions. I'd really like to thank you again for showing these videos! I just wish my generation would appreciate it much more rather than their Facebook status.

Chris Baller WWII Not even close to what he said. Google translate has a tendency to be NOWHERE near what the sentences actually mean. NEVER trust it. It's only useful for individual words, really. Translate doesn't take into account the different sentence structures of languages and that word spelling may be changed depending on the circumstances. "Ah, very fat" would be written like "Ah, sehr grosse!", (the German character "ß" is also written as "ss"). Wait, he's typing in Dutch. Fuck, I dunno what that would be in Dutch, that shit's too next-level for me haha.

Once again a great video, thanks for it. Honestly, i was surprised after you found the 7,5 cm KwK 40 which was used as you wrote only for Stug III & Panzer IV, to see in the footage so many Panther and Tiger. You put always great effort in your videos, complemented with original scenes of the material you found; there are many footages around only of Panzer IV or Stug III. I'm not searching for something to critisice you, its just because i know, you can do it better:o) Greetings and go on!
@HistoryRevived9 жыл бұрын
B. Nutzer Hi, thanks for the comment! You are right, and we are aware that not everything we show in the 'original footage parts' is actually directly related to the find preceding the footage . Sometimes it's hard to come by any useful video material at all (at least in terms of video length) so that's why we try to show as much 'correct' footage as possible, combined with footage that has only indirectly something to do with the specific find, but that's nice to watch anyway. Thanks for giving your opinion :). Best, HR.

It wasn't until I was 16 dos I learn that all of the heavy and decisive fighting was fought in the east, the west was a sideshow by comparison

looks like a kid who found all this stuff on the battlefield was stashing it out in the woods to play with. its all bent and broken, they wouldnt hide that from the enemy. bent bayonets, from explosions like the holes in the canteen and drum magazine. some local put that there and left it. some in a hole, some on the surface, and a hole filled with spent brass, not an item a troop would relocate to a hole.

Can someone answer this question? Was stealing weapons common in WW2? If you were around in that time, would it be common to see a German soldier with a Russian gun or vise versa?
@brenokrug77759 жыл бұрын
***** Many German soldiers used the Soviet PPSh-41 due to it's higher fire rate and mag capacity. Other than that I don't think it was very common. Maybe Allies using the MG34/42 since they also had very fast fire rate. Also, if I was a German soldier and I could get my hands on a M1 Garand, I wouldn't mind it.
@wootenator699 жыл бұрын
***** It was very common for people to use the enemies weapon. The german army especially used anything because late during the war they were short on ammunition, guns, supplies, so they scrounged anything they could including the clothes of fallen enemies. Fascinating stuff!

***** It was extremely common on both sides. Towards the end of the war, many captured American and British weapons were distributed to German soldiers. Allied forces also made extensive use out of captured German small arms. Soldiers on both sides sometimes actually preferred to use what their adversary was armed with.

Please explain how history can be "in the surrounding air".
@TntMooze7 жыл бұрын
Visit a concentration camp or a tank museum and think of how it would feel back then. "history in the surroundig air" is a kind of feeling.

TntMooze mmmmmmm, a bit too poetic for me.

How much stuff do you find that's not ww2?
@HistoryRevived9 жыл бұрын
Fifa banter A lot. Based on the amount of beer cans/coke/energy drink cans we find every trip, the forests we visit are apparently used extensively to throw parties and such. Other than that, many other things, like coins etc. Thanks for watching!
