WWII Metal Detecting - Discover History

Күн бұрын

Team WWIIMD visited last december the former battlefields of the eastern front, where heavy fighting took place in 1945. In the search for war relics we discovered some amazing finds that we will share in our new battlefield research video. Our most interesting find was a German MG34/42 machinegun ammunition box that containd 2 German pistols. Czech CZ 27 and a Belgium FN 1922, both war time productions.
We also found equipment pieces and other interesting things that were left behind in the woods after the war.
Feel free to leave a comment.
Greetings from Holland!

There battlefields are basically everywhere in Europe. Within reason. Ours in America are limited to civil war and revolutionary war sites and you don’t want to get caught at the actual site metal detecting although I would live to. But Europe especially Eastern Europe you Can almost find things on the semi surface but they might be picked over by now

I am a teenage boy, a collector of war militaria and relics. Every piece is a story. Every helmet, medal, and weapon belonged to a man, and each man had a story. I wish to remind all, that there's a story behind every piece and it's the life of a man.

Nope, I'm sorry brother, but this isn't the way it works. Every "piece" is a relic of power, dominance, greed and ownership by people much more anthropologically relevant than the soldier. Ender, I hope you'll listen to this. The soldier is but a chess piece in a grand game, and every artifact on his dead corpse was put there by sociopathic, entitled men, who didn't care what the soldier's death revealed about them. There is no bullet, uniform, insignia, firearm, bayonet, or gas mask that didn't get put there by greedy, sociopathic men. And there is not one soldier among them who agreed with the choices of those men. You're right to respect them through their artifacts....I have done the same. But don't misunderstand how those skeletons and artifacts got there. The phrase "never again" comes to mind....and yet, here we are.....

I have great appreciation to the detail you use to authenticate the artifacts found with actual photos and film footage of items in use, thus verifying exactly what it is and who used it. Thank you very much! Keep up the good work!

Very interesting find with the two boxed pistols. I recognized the FN 1922 as soon as you pulled it out. I have one myself and it has the Nazi Swastika stamped on it. I researched the part numbers and found mine was made in the last half of 1944. I still fire it today. However, for me, it is more of a historical piece from a dark time in world history. How the gun made its way to the US, I do not know. How or where it was used during the war is a mystery. Maybe its secrets are better left untold. Great video. It is good to see people protecting and preserving our history for future generations.

I have a FN Model 1922 in my gun collection. Was made by the Nazis as it has the Waffenampt marks of WaA140. Brought back to the U.S. by a returning American soldier as I have the capture papers signed by his company commander. It must have a story behind it as the soldier wanted to bring it home with him. A great piece of history. If it could only talk.

+gooni goo goo Dude your only making yourself look like an ass by calling people names. Those guns have been in the ground around 70 years. At this level of corrosion it is not even possible to move those triggers, the barrel would be so deformed a hypothetical bullet would not even fit through it let alone if the hardened steel outside the gun is that rusted the firing pin and tiny tiny trigger mechs and springs would be long gone. This was their opinion i'm sure and they have tons of experience with finding old guns so there is no point in you calling people dumbasses just because you are way too anal.

I've found items so rusted, I couldn't identify them. I used laundry soda, and a car battery charger to remove the rust, and the results were beyond amazing. There is only about a hundred videos showing how, on KZbin. I've used this method on two pound chunks of rust, and found they were giant bolts, and nuts that were dropped in the river fifty years ago when the a bridge was built. After the procedure, I could unscrew the bolts. amazing. Try it on a piece of junk metal first, amazing.

There are CZ 27 pistols and FN 1922 with Waffen/Nazi stamps on them so they could have been accepted by the nazis after production. And yes @5:35 in the video these two are FN 1922 (Left) and CZ 27 (Right) both sides used these but you won't know until you check the marking stamps. Judging from the other things they found in this video I would have to guess they are pistols used by Germans.

This is awesome! I am an American in France right now and we are making a ww2 movie. This movie actually covers the battle for hill 108 and we went so far to keep the story true that we have quotes from the diaries of soldiers that were in the actual battle. We have had to dig fox holes and regimental command posts and we have found amazing things in France if anyone is curious I can post a video of some of the things we have found and some of the ww2 weapons we have. So far we have not found any guns but we have found bayonets, motar tubes and etc.

WWII MetalDetecting Back in the 70's through the 80's I was able to detect the oldest BSA camp in the US before it was bulldozed for new homes. Found lots of silver coins dating back into 1800's, one gold dollar, Some WWI and WWII stuff. Best find was a rare 1927 outstanding camper pin that was only issued for 2 years. Lots of fun.

Tokarev and a CZ. If the frame and barrel prove to be sound, there is a chance both will fire if you just replace the small moving parts as needed. On the other hand, they could just blow up. Great find. I wish my country had WWII relics to find.

I had a friend actually fire off a .45 from a m1911 ww2 gun we found in France. Lucky he wasn't hurt, but it made me realize just how unsafe fire arms are, even after being buried for 70+ years. We put a barrel plug in it and worked on getting the magazine release working, which we finally did, and we took the magazine out. We restored the gun, and tracked the cerial number and gave it back to the veteran that used it. He said he remembered when he lost it.

That gun wouldnt fire if you slammed it with a hammer. The pin, hammer, ammo likely just as screwed up as its exterior. I have actually refurbished guns in such bad shape back into firing condition. It depends how many layers caked (of steel) and if anything fused. I'd love to be able visit these areas and restore much of these items I see in videos. I HATE when they destroy a good gun with a drill. Throw the ammo back where they got it. Leaving History to rot. I had a few send me their finds to me in US. I much enjoyed it and the challenges of restoration.
