The 1st find could be a door knob surround plate...... Where the stem of the door knob goes into the wood of the door, it surrounds that area, mainly for looks. Just a suggestion 🤗🤔.

Well done you two. The piece you got at the start is a door knob surround. Congrats on the 3 thimbles. That penny was a ripper. Glad you had a great day out. Good to have you down here😁👍

The crazy thing is my first real hunt with the legend was just a few days ago in a park that I had hunted with my D1 and D2 a lot my last hole of the day was the same exact coin just a few years difference and I'm here in the states.

Hey Ed, loving the content, actually heading into the Unanderra shop shortly to chat with Luke about buying a new Legend as my first locator. Curious! naturally in parks that are in suburbia, youd want to remove 1-10 piano keys to try remove iron / steel, but if your in older areas like this potentially with some history, would you want to keep the 1-10 keys on to potentially find old iron memorabilia such as like a mug or pick or whatever the case may be? Essentially my question is if your more "relic" hunting iron may have some history and is it worth looking for? Cheers!

Hey mate, that’s a really good question! The great thing about this hobby is that you can use the detector however you like 👌 I’d suggest digging everything at a location you haven’t detected before. The reality is that anything could be anywhere 🤙 Some days I’m feeling more patient so I’ll be less selective and other days I’ll be very selective and only dig things with the best chances of being decent.
