Actually, the story says the black man's debt was forgiven I'm September and the couples debt was forgiven "not longer after" his. This story is an attempt to cash in on recent events.

kind of like giving illegals free care when millions had their plans taken away by obamacare
@randallmichael295419 сағат бұрын
They only did it because NC legislature passed a law that hospitals couldn't place a lien on personnel property to cpllect unpaid debt. Goverment provides tax payer funds hospitals can tap into for payment. So actually hospitals hve been gettng paid twice when a forced sell of ones property was enforced.

There are MILLIONS of us who are suffering because we can't get the care we need. Stop showing pathetic examples of insurance companies doing less than the bare minimum. It's far too little, and far too late!

@debbie5728 When it comes to top-ranking health systems and the healthiest countries, the U.S. doesn’t make the list. Countries with socialized medicine consistently outperform us. Don’t fall for the American corporate narrative-systems that prioritize public health work better.

Medical debt is the number 1 cause of homelessness in the US. If they come for your house because of the medical debt you owe, immediately start filing for bankruptcy. Put all that medical debt in the filing.

This story speaks to the problem we have in America insurance is something too many Americans do not have. If you don’t have healthcare insurance, you can be settled with debt that you would never be able to pay back no matter how many years you worked. We literally need a system where nobody who is a US citizen can go without health insurance. That’s the type of system we need because this man who worked all those years until he retired, he didn’t have one thing he needed. He didn’t have health insurance. He was literally waiting. That shouldn’t be a possibility. You can argue. We should have a law that he must purchase health insurance. You can argue that we should give him some type of health insurance and text him for it whatever he should’ve had health insurance.

He chose not to buy insurance and then he had a heart attack and surgery. Now over $90,000 in bills have been wiped away. Nice for him but not for everyone who pays every month for insurance. Guess it’s better not to buy insurance.
@jermelpurse301819 сағат бұрын
That’s the catch most people understand where he was coming from actually 64 approaching 65 going to be eligible for Medicare in just a few months I can wait and go see a doctor then. For most people nothing’s going to happen in those six months you’ll be OK but if you’re one of the few and something happens, you fall and break a hip you suddenly need cancer treatment You could end up in Medical freefall. We need a system where by someway people can’t not have health insurance. Some are going to argue that we shouldn’t tell people you have to have health insurance. Well if we don’t this happens and someone has to eat that cost. That hundred thousand dollars That was forgiven for his debt somebody’s gotta pay that bill. In case you are wondering that will be given back to the insurance company as a tax write off and guess who pays the bill you do. That’s why we want everyone to have health insurance. That way we don’t have to have debt being forgiven, and instead the insurance company can cover the surgery.
