Relief from Collateral Consequences - Playing the Long Game
Much of what Jason presents comes from his own experience including being granted an absolute pardon/expungement of his conviction. Certainly that pardon process isn’t available to everyone, but much of what he learned can be applied to various situations: such as when people are looking to go for tier reductions, early release from probation, or lessening of probation restrictions. Subtopics that will be covered as you seek relief include: finding ways to give back to the community; don’t rush the process of seeking relief (be organized); write first drafts of the character reference letters to make it easier for people who want to support you to do so; watch other hearings and learn how the process works; take responsibility; and prepare for it to be an emotional process.
Bio: In addition to working full-time in an unrelated field, Jason W. currently serves as President of Restorative Action Alliance, a group of anti-carceral crime survivors, individuals impacted by the criminal legal system, and restorative advocates and practitioners with a regional focus on New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. In 2020, he co-created the podcast Amplified Voices to share real life, in-depth stories of fellow humans who have been impacted by the criminal legal system. Jason has worked in leadership roles at Fortune 100 Companies and in smaller start-ups.

This was informative. For those who can, do. I'm a bit surprised more persons don't follow this channel/organization. Perhaps it's due to the stigma, societal "beat-down", and just trying to deal with the rigors of life. I'm saying to those- look outside yourself, to help yourself.
