Living Cosmology: Thomas Berry and the New Story

I just discovered who Thomas Berry is. My education might have served me well if his vision had been shared by my teachers. I found schooling pointless, stifling, appalling and threatening. Man has seen itself as the conquerer, ruler, controller of earth vs an interconnected part of it, which has always saddened and panicked me. I'm not religious but if I believed in gods, I would start with the earth and sun, the 2 most powerful entities we have and rely on, working in tandem for all of life to flourish. ..If we start cherishing what we have.

At 1:01:31 the expert says "it's very easy for us to get brought down by Doom / Gloom environmental messages..." As if environmental news or the reality was like a TV Channel, that one can switch off when it gets too much or too boring. This overfed guy basically never goes out to see nature. Where the fish are dying. The birds are dead. There is massive destruction of natural habitats and a constant exodus of peoples uprooted from their homes. Trust him to never feel anything or those who face the real doom and gloom. A perfect case of a privileged person who only interacts with people or places which are safe. What a hack to be precise. Thats why nothing changes within these great institutions nor do they impact incoming reality. Thomas Berry would shit on these people if he was alive.
