Saaame, but I wasn’t alive when it came it. I haven’t seen this movie in a couple years, It’s weird I see this movie differently now, even all the way in the beginning when Telly was talking to Casper about boning a girl. Just the dialogue...so weird but I like the “fucked-upness”

Just watched Kids for the first time, and I thought it had some pretty deplorable characters. Nice to know that the big fight went down differently irl. The fact that someone stepped in to break it up restores some of my faith in humanity. God knows I lost some of it watching this film.

@@highlybaked8417 How can you say this? Especially since you got DOOM as your profile pic, which makes me think you must have some artistic sense or taste. Kids is so much more raw and authentic and has so much more to say about its time. Mid90s was cool and all but it's retro, it's nostalgia with a hint of "things can go south if you hang with the cool kids" (the car accident), but KIDS shows the real horrors of it, while still totally understanding why they're doing what they're doing and finding something like poetry in it. It captures what it feels like to be young and doesn't shy away from the disturbing part.

To see my era and lifestyle depicted so accurately is awesome. Just meet up walk around meet people, fight, kick it and no one called you or had any idea where you were but the people you were around. Just sad that that moment was the end of that time. Literally, months later cell phones, Internet and things like that came into play and the summers were never the same.

My mom was born in the late 70s and it’s funny you mention this because looking at this film, it kind of explained to me what was going on around when she was young, even though her life was more similar to fictional films like “Clueless” or “My So Called Life”, coming from a pretty stable and secure social network. Though, this film really helps you understand that generation very well.

Nostalgia is a helluva thing! I remember watching this movie in theaters in the mid 90s as a high schooler too. It was raw and shocking though we all lived through some of the experiences here or knew people that were in this lifestyle. Still, "Kids" was exploitative af, these were not the good ol' days that some people in the comments are making them up to be, c'mon now.

In college we had to write an essay explaining why our favorite movie was better than our professor's favorite movie (to kill a mockingbird) and I chose Kids lmao

I posted a video yesterday. It’s the only video on my page. It’s a story about a murder and pedophile ring that I witnessed while I was addicted to heroin. I’ve told the story hundreds of times and everyone says that it’s the best story they’ve ever heard. I wrote a fairly successful novel and this was some of the source material for it. The book is being turned into a film but they omitted this from the screenplay. I promise you it’s the best story you’ve ever heard. It’ll blow your mind.
