As a Phillies fan, we LOVE this guy! He embodies what Philly is and just gets the city. The thing that solidified it for me was when he first signed in 2019 and was in a HUGE slump. He had just struck out like 4-5 times and was booed by Philly. When talking to the reporters after the game, he said "yeah, I'd boo me too. I need to be better." Didn't make any excuses and no bullshit. He cares as much as we do and plays every play like its his last. We love him and are so happy to have him be the face of the franchise.

As a Phillies fan, nearly all of the 2018 season was a debate between paying Machado or Harper. Machado had some red flag concerns with fans (ie cleating other players) that really kept ownership from going all in on him. Plus the team had a lot of IF prospects and not nearly enough OF prospects. We weren’t really sold on Harper either, with the whole crybaby/primadonna national view on him. But when he won the HR Derby in Nationals Park I fell in love. The guy is living up to all the hype and Philly is his.

So frustrating being a White Sox fan. There is a joke that we always "have a seat at the table" but it's just empty fan service to show we are "trying" to land big free agents but never actually do what it takes to land them. Grandal and Hendrix were pleasant surprises, with Grandal being the largest free agent contract we've given out. But Grandal is already slowly deteriorating and neither of those players are on the level of Machado or Harper.

Jerry Reinsdorf will haunt my White Sox fandom forever - how do you not submit an offer to Harper? Reinsdorf is notorious for emphasizing fielding competitive teams without going all in for championships. All about business as opposed to winning. Without Michale Jordan falling into is lap, Jerry Reinsdorf would have 78 seasons to show between the Bulls and White Sox, with ONE championship. The White Sox alone have only 3 playoff game wins since 2005. The Southside deserves so much better 😔
