back in the 70's I worked with another guy to make triplexes from older homes in Kits Point Vancouver. I jacked them up and poured new foundations and made a basement suite where none had existed. I used hydraulic jacks which all fed from the same hydraulic pump, propped them up with I-beams and formed the new foundations. fun and games.

mining is mining drill blast muck and move it to the processing plant. if you want to see gold mining fly to valdor theres 2 mines within town and 4 more within 30 min drive amos and malartic are within 3 h driving as are between 20 and 100 other mines in the abatibi area . they do hard rock underground mines mostly, the klondike days dont work with solid granite which is what there mining in up there chasing veins of quartz ,,between the quartz and granite are veins of gold and the deposits up there are impressive the fireplace in my grandparents house was built with samples from most of the mines in the area and if processed today probably could pay for the building and one or two had "Veins' in them , its dirty dangerous work wet muddy loud and dark mostly.

It's awesome that they are saving these homes from being demolished by moving them. Hopefully this becomes a big industry in the U.S. and Canada. Help provide employment too. That said, the Quebec Transport Authorities are going to have to work on a new rulebook. Beware! It becomes apparent that something akin to this developed in the course of making this video - I suspect the house movers for the Quebec town were project low bidders, so probably a disgruntled competitor for the project blew the whistle on the low bidders by alerting the authorities, mid-move, that proper safety equipment and permits had not been obtained. Committed to the documentary (camera crews on site, etc.), the producers of this video likely decided, in a moment of bad decision making, to try and make the best of bad situation. This was like filming The Three Stooges as house movers. Not much better for the Raleigh move - working the complex hydraulic machine for the most precious home was entrusted to a new-hire.
