For those comparing the B2200 to a Pinto, you're not completely wrong but the pinto thing was completely blown out of proportion by urban legend. Pinto rear-end explosion deaths was in double digits, 27 to be exact. The 75-76 Pinto averaged 310 fatalities a year whereas Toyota Corolla 313, VW Beetle 374 & the Datsun 1200/210 at 405. The Pinto had a lower death rate in fiery rear-end collisions than the average compact or subcompact then. You have loads of safety crap in cars now but that might be why they're less exciting, Anyway, basically if you wanted safety back in the day you bought a Volvo 200 series not most compact/subcompact cars. Basically if the Pinto had about $11 in reinforcements then the fiery death legend wouldn't have happened but that's how it goes. Gingium's B2200 doesn't look particularly safe for a drift application but "meh" if it passes inspection at the track then who cares it's his life.

Gingium , dont know if this problem will happen to you but having the fuel tank that behind and drifting will cause air bubbles into to gas tank and there might be some loss on the fuel pressure as you drift , to help this problem a bit there are some stuff inside the gas tank that prevent it from happening at a high level but not every gas tank has that stuff (sorry for calling them "stuff" but english is not my native and i dont know how they called , but they prevent air bubbles) anyways because gas tank is mounted much farther behind it means that its movement is lot more than the previus place (close to middle) , i dont know if you can understand what i say ... i hope this is little bit helpful.
@Wmoore15 жыл бұрын
Good point, actually. I imagine baffles would help, but then that would require chopping up the gas tank and if you're going that far.. Might as well put a proper cell in the bed.
@klei_mouka90875 жыл бұрын
@@Wmoore1 yeah , just thought it and i comment it ,just my opinion you can say , yeah its too much effort i know but it can cause some miss behaviors of the engine , and his gas tank might have already if not lots just some , usualy manufacturers have some baffles in but just enough for regural driving where there is not much sideways and quick accelaration and braking action , dont know if what im saying is stupid but it makes little sence to me and thats what they teach me in school so... Good work and progress getting made on this weapon of a ute! One thing to note, having the fuel tank soo far towards the rear will cause a lot and very severe “tank slapping” which will make transitions quite hard due to all the fuel in your tank “slapping” around. You keep saying its gonna help with weight, but adding weight behind your rear axle is much different than adding weight in front of it. As someone whos been driving trucks in the snow and adding bags in the bed for yearsssss, i can tell you weight in front of the axle helped with overall grip and balance, adding weight behind helped with balance and grip in a straight line sure, but BUTCHERED the weight balance once it got sideways, once it would oversteer it would just go all the way around, it was very hard to catch and maintain.
