Relocating + upgrading the battery on a 94 Daihatsu Hijet S110P

The extra draw from more electronics like the amp, radio and lights called for a battery upgrade but the stock tray is too small. It's also in the way of some of my future plans, so we moved it to the opposite side. I used a group 51 size AGM battery so that it fits between the frame and bed while laying on its side. The heavy gauge stock cables reach, I only had to extend an 8awg wire for some accessory power leads.

I had a similar idea. Moar Powah. I'm thinking of modifying or replacing the battery box so it extends back almost to the rear fender so I can install a deep cycle marine battery that should have plenty of cranking amps for the little three cylinder engine. My original plan was a second LiFePO4 battery for accessories (because I hate lead acid) but having them both charging from the alternator but maintaining a separate 12V bus seemed like a hassle. I don't have a subwoofer, but it might be nice for me to have a 2000 watt power inverter with the engine at a fast idle that I could use to power my Poulan 120VAC chainsaw which is fairly awesome. I could carry a 100 foot extension cord and gather firewood quietly and without choking on 2 cycle exhaust... and it starts with every pull of the trigger. 120 VAC could also be good for a circular saw, small contractor's table saw, large hammer drill or any other corded power tool.

Konig Control wheels (14x6 et38) with a 4x108 pattern and used misalignment lug nuts (ebay) that gave me that 1mm either way to fit. Used hub centric rings to make sure they're centered, I had to modify those to fit properly. The tires are 185/65r14. No spacers, no lift kit, no rubbing once I ditched the front mud flaps. Also changed the wheel studs to be longer as the alloys have a thicker mating surface.

Not a lead-acid battery, but the one I used here is an AGM (automotive glass mat) battery and these can be installed in any orientation. They're a little more expensive but are also more powerful in a smaller package.
