REM interview 1989 Green Tour

R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe interviewed in April 1989. Recorded from Analogue satellite receiver. Occasionally I would record all night from MTV, then edit any clips I wanted to keep onto another VHS tape and that's how I have this clip, recorded from MTV Europe.

When this tour came to Barrowlands ,, it was sold out within an hour,,I could’ve settled for the Edinburgh playhouse but everyone knows that Barrowlands is the venue to be at....I put an ad in the wanted section of the nme & hey presto....What a night! 👍

Oh you lucky person, I'd never have thought of trying the NME wanted section, usually we just stood outside the Barrowlands or where ever listening for anyone selling spare tickets.

@@ScottishTeeVee I only received that one offer ,at cost price too. One of my buddy’s took the gamble and traveled with me in the car ,he managed to get a ticket off some other lads (spotted Sharlene spiteri at the gig),,, fantastic night - the place was super pumped ! You know you get some special nights at that venue we’ve both experienced them ...this was one of them my friend .✅
