Herrerasaurus is notable for its primitive features, such as a lower leg bone that was not yet fully fused to the ankle, which distinguish it from more advanced theropods like T. rex. 3) Plateosaurus (214 - 204 ma): Plateosaurus had a long neck, a small head with blunt teeth, and a long, muscular tail.
