This is one of my favorite supposedly fast food dishes out there I'm a big seafood fan and beside coconut shrimp this is one of the best. Can't wait to try it.

So I'm grew up in Hong Kong, and we definitely have walnut shrimp here. I think it even originated here. With that said, it is a regional dish, so yes if you ask people from other regions you might get a confused look XD. Also it doesn't typically look as dark as the PE version.

That looks amazing! 😍I just helped my ten year old made his very own honey walnut shrimp for lunch because he loves Panda's. We followed an old recipe I found about a decade ago but the result was not as delicious as Panda's. He rate it a 7/10. We were trying to figure out what was missing. So I decided to research a more current recipe and I found yours. I can't wait to give it a try soon. Thank you. Btw, the videography of this video is superb 🙌

Keep researching. There are better recipes. Soak the shrimp in lye water or baking soda water. It keeps the texture crisp.

I used to live close to Bridgewater Commons Mall but now live in northern NJ. Didn't know there was a Panda Express there years back but now I wouldn't be surprised. We just got one that opened in Succasunna and you know darn well I'll be ordering this dish often as I love it along with the Beijing Beef

I didn't have walnuts and heavy cream lying around so I substituted crushed almonds for the nuts and almond milk for the heavy cream. I also substituted agave for honey. And wow! It was insanely delicious 🤤. Thanks for this great video! It was very easy to follow.

If you hate mayo as much as I do, you can always use cream cheese as a substitute! I've made these before and they were perfection! 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾

I believe I saw somewhere that get the authentic Chinese restaurant texture shrimp you soak them in lye water or baking soda water. It keeps the shrimp a plump and crisp texture.

May I offer some friendly constructive criticism? I feel like Justin's videos would do better (engage more viewers) if the presentation was changed up a bit. I've noticed that his videos don't get the same reactions that June's and Julia's do. And that's puzzling, because the content itself is great - and other KZbin content creators have success making videos with the same theme as Copycat Kitchen, so we know people want to watch this kind of content. And Justin is cool! I'd actually really like to see more of Justin's personality in his videos - though, of course, for many professionals, there has to be a line between their professional persona and their personal privacy (which is completely understandable). I feel like nowadays, the most popular and well-liked food content showcases not only food & cooking in some exceptional way (whether it's bougie, extra relatable & easy, professional caliber made accessible, hipstery & edgey, food sciencey, diversity friendly, or whatever else), but also the people doing the cooking. Look at Bon Appetit pre-meltdown - it was practically a sitcom! And people loved that. And look at personalities like June, Chef John, Babish, and Adam Ragusea. I feel like a ton of their viewers care more about *them* than about the content. In terms of how the actual video is shot, I've noticed that it's gotten very popular to have (mostly) fixed shots where the camera is *not* moving around, and personally I really prefer that, at least for KZbin videos. When the camera's moving, it almost feels like I'm watching a dated & overdone Food Network show. But when it's fixed, Idk, it feels a bit more realistic; maybe it makes me feel like I'm actually there in the kitchen, and that draws me in more. Also, this is vague and perhaps not super helpful, but... the video thumbnails and lighting leave something to be desired, too. Just some thoughts. :) Happy Monday!
