This is becoming one of my favorite series to watch. I truly appreciate your love for the game and care in remaking it. People like yourself are the ones that should be leading game development. Leading game development? Are you serious? There's a lot more that goes into it than just importing a bunch of pre-made work into a UE5 project.

@@bobross9370 My skill set aside, I think he means people with a passion for the project should be leading the project. This is something that is lacking in the modern game industry.
@bobross937010 ай бұрын
@@MitchMakesGames Not trying to insult you in any way, I'm sure you have a solid grasp on game development, video production is a job on it's own, nothing wrong with cutting some corners here and there. I just think his comment came across as very obtuse/naive, he pretty much stereotypes all "leading game developers" as "lazy" and "burned out", but doesn't realise that there is a lot more that goes into creating AAA games than is shown in videos like these, you *need* to have a lot of passion to be able to get on the same level as these AAA leading roles, look at Cory Barlog, he has spent close to 20 years on God Of War, if that's not passion, I don't know what is.

While this is obviously impressive and entertaining, i can't help but feel like continuing to create levels without iterating on baseline mechanics is coming across as "check out these youtube videos" instead of "check out this game." Getting more than 2 or 3 levels deep without proofing some controls/physics/handling could lead to you redoing a lot more level work than you'd like. Also as a selfish player and viewer, i want to play it, and it doesn't look playable so far. TL;DR: "Step 2, draw the rest of the owl" Either way, it's cool stuff. Keep it up.

I just thought of a great Tony Hawk project that might be easier to do than the full levels. Do you remember the Create A Park feature? Basically bring that into Unreal Engine. Clean up or redo the models of all the parts, ramps, and buildings. Its kind of a lot of objects, but it cant be anywhere near the number of objects in a real level. Like around 100-200? I don't remember there being a massive library of things to chose from, it was just enough objects. some of the bigger ramps were just parts of a level too. Your Park had to fit on a tiny PS2 memory card back then too so it couldnt have too many objects in the first place. If you could port the game controls and animatios, the create a park controls . It would be a relatively quicker way to release a playable game. If we can get that gameplay engine. The game would go... The player makes a park then skates it. Thats it! Thats the game. Im playing with blender right now, im a veteran graphic artist, i would be happy to help out with models or textures, anything i know how to do, im no coder or programmer, i know my art, and i love Tony Hawk games!
