The resilience of the Japanese culture, represented in a song, that was heard around the world! Only fitting to see so many people a part of this project. Excellent cover, I really enjoyed watching everyone sing it with so much pride!
Though I am not Japanese, I still feel the positive vibe in the song. Keep looping on Sunday to recharge. Thank you.

I consider this one of the best artistic products of the covid era. Thank you to all who helped produce this. I’ve had a lifelong love of this song. It became famous in the US by first being played by a nearby radio station. Because of that, I researched Kyu Sakamoto and the song writer. To me it’s all that more poignant because it is about a lost political cause. And if I ever go back to Japan, I’ll be well equipped to sing this in karaoke.

Thank you for your comment. We are so happy that you've loved this song for long. This song is very special for us, Japanese people as well. From the old generation to the young, we continually sing this song. During Covid restrictions, Australia was so supportive and so we appreciated it. So we sang this song with our gratitude. 🇦🇺

My wife left this world on May 12, 2019. Though I have heard this song many times, I learned the English translation of the lyrics a few months later - around what would have been our 25th anniversary. The lyrics describe my feelings precisely, and hearing this song still brings me to tears 😥
@voicecollage3 жыл бұрын
Hi George, thank you for your comment. I am sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your feelings with us. As you may know, this song was a big hit in the 1960s by Japanese singer Kyu Sakamoto. Unfortunately, he was passed away in a plane accident in 1985. His voice and positive attitude made this song more special for us. Now we are under some restrictions and people have lots of fear. So we believe this song will illuminate the people's hearts around the world and give them courage and smiles. Stay safe and take care of yourself.
Lovely. Great version. Hugs and love from Spain. Gracias!!

@@voicecollage Um, I'm talking about Yoko Ono! The famous Japanese artist who lives in New York. HAHA!! I love your version of the song and I think something like this was done in America too. I live in Canada and I have met TWO Japanese ambassadors to Canada. I'm very happy I met Ambassador Ishikawa. After the Fukushima earthquake he was quoted in the press in Canada as having been "moved to tears" by the outpouring of support for Japan in Canada. And I LOVE JPOP!!! Why? No annoying English lyrics! I love the music without understanding what they are saying! Yasutaka Nakata is my fave Jpop producer. I like everyone he works with. And "Sukiyaki" is the first "Jpop" song people would have heard in the West. It went to #1 on the Billboard magazine music chart in the early 1960s.
