someone give agent some C++ lessons so he can understand why it's a lot of people working on AAA titles, 2000 workers don't equate to 2000 people working on one game. some people maintain dev tools, servers, pipelines and shit, some do audio foley and original sound effects and tracks, there are some who record dialog, write dialog, combat, in game physics etc., and all of that in the shortest of time, money and resources which takes years and a lot by the way. having to optimize everything to run in consoles which have the worst hardware compared to PC, use what they have to make the game run smooth and consistently is no joke. They work on multiple games at once to top it all. research, actors, motion capture, it is a lot remember, the is still missions and side quests. it all boils down to the complexity of a game, among us is complex, but compared to GTA? they have not started to even walk yet. in the reaction you watched dude had to even buy a template.7 days would have been 7 months to even build a barely working model.

I think this is a bit of bad take about game development. For example the water thing you said. It's more than just making the water look good. You have to account for the physics of the water. How it interacts with the playable character. How other parts of the environment effect it. This looks good but can it function with all the other things the game has to do without your console blowing up.

The dynamic weather systems. Ai responses to the environment and what you do. When you make one part of the game it takes a lot of people cause there is so much more to it than making it look good.

it wasn’t, the devs of 7th generation games (PS3 Xbox 360 etc) put dark yellow filters over their games because the grimy/dark vibe was super popular back then (just look at the micheal bay transformers movies), and there are actually patches for the PS3 on emulators that revert the colors back to what they originally looked like. The PS3 could make bright vibrant triple A games easily and it being a console limitation is completely false, the PS3 had no color limitations especially with games like lbp and Minecraft
