Don't forget Steve Kerr was a 3-point shooter. So when he became Coach of the GSW he gave Curry the green light. Kerr gets to live his dream through Curry. He prolly wished that he could have shot as much as he wanted back in the day. But coaches were not allowing it. Even Reggie Miller didn't just shoot 3s like crazy because coaches didn't allow it.

PLEASE people, watch 24:23 to 25:18 THAT RIGHT THERE is the key to all conversations about basketball since the beginning. No one saw Kareem, Oscar or Jordan's records being beaten. Meanwhile, there's still records by Wilt that seem unreachable and possibly are unreachable. That timestamp is a prime example of why you have to respect the eras that came before this one. Pretty soon you'll be an older man with an opinion just like Agent.

The talent in the NBA always makes a jump after a major jump in popularity. The 70s had a jump following the popularity of Wilt V Russell matchups. Same with 90s after Magic V Bird. Jordan and the Dream Team caused another jump, which led to the 2000s spike. The Warriors 72 game run caused the spike we see now.

Bring back hand and body checking in the NBA like it use to be... then let's see if they keep saying the OFFENCE TODAY IS SOO MUCH BETTER. THE ONLY REASON THEY CAN SAY THAT IS BECAUSE WHILE OFFENCE HAS EVOLVED TO NOTHING BUT TRAVELLING... THEY'VE DONE EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO LITERALLY REMOVE ANY FORM OF DEFENCE EXISTING!!! Larry Bird just used the three pointer as a dagger in the 4th quarter. When they started the three point contest Bird won three in a row. In his very first contest in the final round he just 23 of 33 three pointers. That's 73%. They didn't even introduce the three point line until birds rookie season in 1979. How well do you think players of today would do with a 4 point line if they just started it. That and the old rules are exactly why you can't compare different eras. That doesn't mean they were trash. I like all the eras . I recognize talent and greatness. I grew up in the 60s 70s and saw bird come on the scene. Started watching him when I was in high school when he played his college games he was amazing and great playing in any era. Luka reminds me of Bird a lot. Magic and Bird saved the NBA. I'm watching the youngsters coming up now like the boozer, twins, Cooper Flagg and many more. I think we have to appreciate basketball for what it brings.

The irony of your plan to stop Shaq if he played in this era, by bringing in players just to hack him, is you'd be going back to 80's-90's basketball where you had guys on teams explicitly for the purposes of being big, playing physical on defense and hacking certain guys to try to stop them.

kobe made being trash not cool with the effort he put in after he played trash his 1st couple NBA seasons, which is why kobe is the best of all time to me. He changed the dynamics of the game and made it better of course jordan did it first, I just feel kobe was more impactful to me.

Once again, MJ “struggled” against Magic and Bird early in his career because they were on the top teams in the league at that time. MJ was spectacular, but he was a bad team that ascended as the years went on. MJ won 50 games in a season and a playoff series with Pippen and Grant as bench players in 87-88 season and Phil wasn’t HC. The next year, the Bulls made it to the ECF with moderate contributions from Pippen and Grant, and Doug Collins was still HC. So, there is context when it comes to the video creator stating that MJ struggled with the previous era. MJ was a superstar on a mediocre team and people need to understand that. Took MJ 6 yrs to take a basement team to a 3peat and then do it twice.

Shaq would be great if he could hit FTs and work on shots about 10-15 ft away from the basket. Also, it will take a certain coach to use him correctly in this run and gun league.

Shaq had great work ethic ofc he could and he would have a jumper. His jumper now at his old age is better than we seen in the NBA and thats just putting in work 😌

A great video and very good points but with the mj thing, a shot chart does not mean you dribbled with said hand, it just clarifies where you shot at.

👽…32:20 I think EVERYONE forgets Lebron is left handed playing right handed sooo technically according to the data shown Lebron has been playing to his weak hand his entire career(tho he’s become ambidextrous) so not as damming as it may appear BOTH STILL GOATS 🐐 THO🫨

Agent, the chart for iso possessions was comparing best iso scorers FOR THIS SEASON! so I wouldn't say it's as damming as you thought. Especially when it comes to LeBron, jimmy did a good job of misleading with it.

You can't just foul Shaq. They literally have a rule named hack-a-shaq. You can foul him during a basketball play but you can't just hack him.

The older players where 100% better there's no doubt. Watch the games an realize how good those players are doesn't matter the year look at the double teams back then. Look at how hard those good players got fouled and still put up ridiculous points. You gotta realize those too players where different back then.

Here’s my take, the new school learns from The old school , perfect and make moves better. New school players will cook the old school. It’s like technology, 1990 computer is trash compared to now. Old school was more physical that’s it.!

to be fair as an old head, when I call modern basketball "soft" it's simply the rules and enforcement. Refs control games more now than ever in the NBA, and phantom foul calls are all over the league. I still love the action when there is some, but I don't enjoy free throw competitions and pro athletes gameplanning to draw a foul vs get a bucket. It's also fair to say analytics hurt a lot of sports, cuz GIMME THE MID RANGE GAME!!! A BUCKET IS A BUCKET!

the league is soft now in days. that isnt a lie, that is facts, u breath on someone its a foul, you could punch someone in the 90s and its a normal foul. lebron is a king of flops, that wasnt a thing back in the days
