@@edwardlagrossa1246 Wow man, what a privilege to have been alive when the album was barely hitting stores. I'm only 17 now, but I can definitely admire the greatness of The Beatles, and if I had a time machine, I'd without a doubt head to the 60's.

1967 was the Summer of Love. But really love lasted at least till about 1975. When the USA finally had left the war in Vietnam in 74. Another year the magic lingered. Hope held a spell for awhile. Then people began to get a little colder. A little more cautious, A little more individualistic, a little less dreamy. Utopic flashes flickered out.

1967 was a fantastic year for music but unfortunately nobody gives sunshine pop music the credit it deserves, like the fantastic group, Spanky and Our Gang, they had 2 huge top 20 hits with Sunday Will Never be the Same and Lazy Day! What am I the only one who remembers them or mentions them? Are you kidding me!

As a Brit this was amazingly judged. The video clips were all absolutely amazing. I was born in London, 1954 and grew up listening to the Beatles, The Stones, Beach Boys and a host of wonderful others on radio every day. It was the dawning of the age Aquarius where the Arts exploded. Even now I look back at and think was the Best of Times. I am so blessed to have experienced the 60s. Who is here in 2020 and agrees? What stories do you have?

Agree. I'm Polish though. Despite dreadful life conditions in the Comunist Poland, I recollect having felt free. Probably thanks to the British rock music. Sweet memories. "Mighty Quinn" by Manfred Mann. My teenage friends then believed that it was about the "Queens Panties". English was not the lingo they excelled in. Cheers from a "54" chap.

@Jack Storm Hippies were against the war. Most hippies were in universities which saved them from the draft. Those who did not studied and were unemployed ended up getting drafted or ran North into canada and could not return until years later when the U.S. gave out pardons. In 1971 more or less U.S. withdrew. Even Cassus Clay (Mohammad Ali) ran off to Europe. Where he got rusty cause no one there was fit enough even as a sparing partner. Ali was pardoned only to be laid out flat in his first fight. I believe by George Forman.( I'm not sure). Boy did I enjoyed the sixties.

December, 1967 was a very dramatic turning point in my life. I was only 91/2 years old, and yes, a half year seems important at that age. On December 17th, a little after 11:30 p.m., an 18 year old kid, who was drinking, ran a stop sign, at an estimated speed of 60 to 70 miles an hour. He t-boned my Mom's car. They pronounced her dead at about 1 a.m., on the 18th, one week before Christmas. It was a Sunday morning when I was informed of her death. Merry Christmas. That's when, effectively ,my childhood ended. So I watch these videos with a particular nostalgia, since the ones that predated December, '67, had a magic, that to me, never existed again.

That is a very sad story to hear Robert. Childhood ends far too soon in any case but for such a horrible group of things to happen, any one of which eg a car accident is awful and frightening and is so sad. I hope your life has been blessed in the 40 odd years since then

@@georgealderson4424 I'm a far stronger person for all that I've been through. I would not be nearly as strong (strength of character, able to face adversity...), had my Mother lived. I also have developed a depth of compassion for those who are going through trials (not of their own making, I have limited compassion for "self-inflicted" injuries), that I doubt I would have had, had she lived a full life. And yes, I've been blessed in may ways. Thank you for your compassion.

Nice post. I turned 15 Feb 3 1967. Strawberry Fields was released on 45 backed by Penny Lane. The Beatles had evolved as Sgt Pepper was released that June ‘67. Monterey Pop. Great year for music cuz the 60’s were evolving as well.

Sorry to rain on your parade. I love the music. I started high school that year. When I hear 1967, first thing that comes to mind is Vietnam. It was on the news twice a night.

A Groovy, Far Out year. I was hoping that this being the 50th Annv that it could have been somewhat like it again. Instead it has become more like the nightmare of the violent 1968. Love this video and the far out memories. I don't know when time was altered but today is not the way it was planned when we were growing up.
