Lots of good music in 69, but a couple of events that pop in my brain, are Woodstock & Altamont. On one hand, you have a celebration of peace and love, then 4 months later, it's officially done! Weirdly enough, it ends in the bay area.

I was only 8 years old growing up in LA at the time. I definitely remember New Years eve and not wanting 1970 to happen since all I knew was the 60s. As far as the super groups are concerned, I really didnt know anything about it. I was into what I heard on the radio. The pop bubblegum and motown stuff. I was into the Monkees and tv shows that featured a guitar. Glen Campbell, Roy Clark from Hee Haw for example. So many great songs from that year.

Interesting that they left out the forming of Emerson Lake and Palmer and the start of King Crimson. I just saw BEAT (another one time supergroup) on their tour this year. I also believe that while 1969 was a turning point, it was the start of the best rock music which took place throughout the next few years, I was 15 in 1969.
