While I can believe this to be true, Clay wouldn’t go though a divorce because he’s the mayor and he wants to look good in pubic with his family to not make him look weak. I do see Danielle thinking about this plan since, he started giving Bloberta flowers in tennis. But I am not sure if that happen before or after, she got married to Clay. Still good explanation!

On your Coach Stopframe thing, I believe he got with Bloberta cause it was the closest thing he could get to Clay.

I do know that stopframe got with Bloberta because she was the closest thing he could get to clay, but I was questioning as to why he thought that creating shapely would be a good idea.
