Hi, played Feathers in 1986 with 'Parkin' Zone' and was a great gig, fantasic acoustics and an audience willing to have a good time.
@stuartseagrave4467Ай бұрын
just round the back was a late night venue called 'shadows' where big name musos would do gigs ingonito. e.g members of moving pictures, Rex Goh, Rory o' Donague's sister, Brigette, I think. Les Karski, with a band called the Willies, great band , Vito replace Les on bass, when Les formed the Bondi cigars

Best venue ever!!! I try and tell pholk about it and get looks of total disbelief 99% of the time. I saw the Enormous Horns there once - the band took up half the space! Noiseworks before they were Noiseworks. So many memories . . .

I came out from England in 1986 and lived in a shared house in I think Atchinson St. The Crowie soon became my local playing pool in the back room and on the weekend getting smashed and dancing till I was sore in Feathers till the early hours. Incidentally I met two of my ex wives in Feathers when the lights were down low..the music was thumping up loud and everyone was up high too...If I remember right when the Crowie closed early we'd stumble down to that wine bar I think called the Stoned Crow ..Brilliant times late 80's early 90's ....Im still here 37 years later

They were a great opening act. Sydney needs to bring back its live music scene. That's for sure. Thank you for posting. I was the lead guitarist from Soul Survivors and we played there probably every two months, it was one of the venues booked by the I think it was the "The Agency" which had some sort of deal with many venues at the time. We were part of that Soul surge I guess at the time, I remember the stage in that corner but being longer and running along the Falcon street side. The dressing room was upstairs at the end of the hallway, good venue to play at.

Nice to see some old copies of street press--before they eventually became overtaken with glossy pages of advertising (VOMIT). This pub looks a lot different nowadays, the massive TV screens are gross. It was a small music venue that's for sure. . .I remember seeing a few different bands play at Feathers. . .The Lime Spiders come to mind, probably due to Mick Blood's voice, which was very memorable live. Nostalgic trips down memory lane can get a little disheartening at times--especially when you begin to see the horrors of what eventually becomes of these venues. Thank you for your efforts thou, it is interesting to watch.
